Canadian applying for dentistry in Australia

Nice I'm from Alberta as well. First year isn't too bad. You have to do some med courses along with your dentistry courses. Overall, I would say its easier than undergrad in Canada because you aren't gunning for a 4.0 and you can just pass, which is pretty easy. Although i've heard it gets a lot...

    Canadian to Australia

Med in australia isn't too competitive if you are an international applicant from Canada. I know people that have got in with 3.2's . The reason is because it may be difficult to go back to Canada to practice due to agreements and residencies, etc.

Canadian applying for dentistry in Australia

Hi, I was in a similar situation to you a couple years ago and was accepted in to GU. I had 3.7ish GPA, I know a couple people that got in with a 3.5. The average is probably around 3.6 . Also depends on your background, theres some students with masters and PHD's, some with bachelors. I would...

International spots for 2018 have been filled now for over two months. Think it's a completely different process for Australian applicants.

Hey everyone, I'm an international from Canada coming to Griffith in 2018 for dentistry. Just wondering if anyone else on here has been accepted in to the program and if there is a Facebook group for the 2018 class. Also wondering if anyone has any advice on accommodations.

CSU CSU Dentistry: Q&A and General Discussion

Nice! Did you hear back from CSU yet? I'm also from Alberta (Edmonton) and applied through oztrekk. I had a first round interview with CSU which I ended up declining as I was accepted in to Griffith for the 2018 program.

Competitive GPA for Melbourne Dentistry (Canadian applicant)

Imo from reading previous threads and hearing from a friend that graduated from Melbourne's dental program, that should be pretty competitive considering your dat scores. How did you manage to meet the prereqs though? The anatomy prereq is really hard to complete in Canada.

Thanks, I'll definitely take a look at their blogs. Yeah not bad, I just completed my BSc and definitely did a lot better in the last couple years GPA wise. No not at all! I had a lot of interest in CSU mainly because of their focus on rural and regional healthcare. In my opinion and based...

UQ The University of Queensland International Student 2017 Dentistry offer

I was recently accepted in to Griffith's dental program for 2018 and I have an interview for CSU's dental program commencing in 2018 coming up. I was just wondering if you guys knew anything about CSU and how the student life (ie. extracurricular activities) is there? CSU really jumped out at me...

UQ The University of Queensland International Student 2017 Dentistry offer

The problem is most Canadian schools don't work on a percentage scale. The only one I know of that uses percentages is Western in Ontario. At my University for Biology classes you need 85% average for an A and 90% for an A+. But, for chem, psych, and most other science classes you need 90% for...

UQ The University of Queensland International Student 2017 Dentistry offer

So here in western Canadian schools an A- is a 3.7, an A is a 4.0, and an A+ is also a 4.0, so you can't score higher than a 4.0. However, I've heard that some dental schools will look at how many A+'s you have and at least acknowledge it. In the states they count A+'s as 4.3's. So if I was to...

GPA in Canada is on a 4.0 scale, as well the 6.5/7.0 is the cutoff so I'm assuming the average GPA of accepted students is higher? Thank you, I appreciate it.

I'm an international student from Canada, unfortunately most schools don't release that information.
