Mapping was still available but not as helpful as it was in previous years. I definitely felt there was more mapping last year.

    Post-UMAT 2018 Debrief Thread

Last year when doing the umat I came out thinking S3 was so easy and that I was definitely getting a raw score of like 75 (ended up with 62) or more. I did that section first last year and finished it in 60 instead of the 50 I had planned as I hadn't done any timed exams last year. The rest of...

I think with this there was also a pattern of increasing triangles that were created by the crossovers, those that had 5 intersecting lines, one had 6 triangles and the other had like 7 so I chose the one with 6 triangles cause it followed the pattern. Could be wrong though but that’s how I...

    Pre-UMAT 2018 Discussion Thread

Is it too late to start studying for the umat? I understand that umat is not really you can study for but something you try to train yourself for to prepare yourself for the question types. I have been pretty occupied this year with personal things and have been unable to find the time to...

    [Undergrad] High School Discussion Thread

Human Bio is a university subject they can complete as part of the UofA Headstart Program. Here is more info: Headstart and SACE | Headstart The scoring for the subject is like: HD (85%) - 20/20 D (75%) - 19.8/20 C - 18/20 From my experience and many of my friends who have done only ONE uni...

Yes. Because for the calculation of ATAR in SA, they use the best 90 credits. In your case, it will be General - 20 creds Bio - 20 creds Chemistry - 20 creds Human bio - 20 creds Half the accounting score - 10 creds. It may not be accounting that's halved, it will be the lowest score out of...

I would not recommend taking Human Bio out no matter what as it is gonna be the easiest scoring subject for you. To avoid the gamble, i suggest keeping Accounting and just complete RP to the passing requirement.

That sounds pretty solid. That way the subjects you could use towards your ATAR are: Human Bio General Maths Bio Chemistry RP Although this might be a gamble as the evaluation becomes as part of your ATAR and it could be unpredictable and a disappointment is the last thing you want when...

I could suggest doing English, Biology and General Maths in year 11. While doing this, just focus more on achieving A+'s for maths and bio. For English, you wouldn't need to try that hard, a B+ overall grade I believe satisfies the prerequisite for all uni's (I think a 35 study score is for some...

Are you gonna be trying hard in English or just doing it as a prerequisite for interstate uni's? The plan is good just make sure maintain a minimum B grade for your year 11 subjects as that is a requirement for Headstart. I would suggest doing Headstart Human Bio in year 12 as you'd have quite...

    [Undergrad] High School Discussion Thread

Basically, you already know that scores for subjects are given out of 20. With these Adelaide Headstart subjects, the scaling on them is pretty much broken in a good way for you. For example, to get a 20/20 in a SACE Biology, you'd need to get A+ overall grades for assignments, tests and the...

    [Undergrad] High School Discussion Thread

Sounds good. Are your schools RP teachers trained in it? RP is one of those subjects where the evaluation is so unpredictable so it could ruin your ATAR if the grade doesn't go your way. Also how close is your school to Adelaide Uni north terrace campus? Doing these accelerated subjects opens...

    [Undergrad] High School Discussion Thread

Keep in mind that the scaling on English is screwed and that to get a good score out of 20, you'll need to A+ two sections (Creating texts, Reaponding to texts) and get an A for the last section (External comparative). Getting an A in all three is usually not enough as you will get around 18 and...

    LaTrobe 2nd round dentistry offers

Actually I'm not 100% sure about the Aspire program, just assumed as he was quite beneath the clearly-in. However, he'll be rejecting his Latrobe offer as he got offered Adelaide dent.

Aspire program. He's also from SA, getting A for all three subjects. This is rather odd given that the offer is 100% ATAR.
