From the accounts of my friends (last year), the 8th papers did get a little harder than they were expecting, but they were all still able to replace their lowest papers by at least 2. This was only a small sample size, however.

    Hi,

"How hard is stats exactly" is a hard question to answer and it's also very subjective. It is easier than HSFY papers for the majority but this isn't a fact. This applies to all papers.

The paper has been getting harder in my opinion but that wasn't the department's intention, I believe.

Wooo STATS done. Quite an interesting exam. A lot of questions were word for word repeats from the 2011 paper given to us. Also heaps of easy as questions eg "what is the median" or "what is the mean", but then some cheeky ones which appeared straight forward at first glance, but required taking a step back and reading the question carefully.

Overall was a good exam, now the wait for results + offers :)

congrats! Hopefully results start coming out around the end of this week. I was really surprised stuff about SD, mean, median, etc wasn't in PUBH192 actually as we did quite a lot of that stuff in med lab science and it seemed like it had been taught previously during HSFY from my impressions around my classmates.

Why not? I'm just talking about PUBH here not STATS and PUBH will have been 2 weeks come Friday

The exam period ends on Saturday. You will need to wait a little longer unfortunately.

Ah, does the uni put out all results following the exam period and not staggered? Never knew that

I don't think so but it varies from departments to departments. It's mainly that it takes time to finish marking. According to a exam marker from last year, the HSFY papers have a combined meeting prior to the results release etc too. Historically, the results came out after the exam period ended.

If I remember correctly last year they came out on the same day but at different times. You could check last years thread to get a indication. Im sure people posted there.

    Hi,

I think they came out across two days last year. It was shortly after the said inter-faculty meeting. MAOR came out earlier on and the HSFY papers + STAT came across two days almost a week after MAOR.

I managed to guess the release dates for MAOR and STAT pretty good last year. I wonder if I can do better than that.

OMG, this just reminded me... my first year of Uni (and maybe beyond that?), we got our final results via snail mail. I feel very old!

Probably a bit late to the party, but congrats on finishing HSFY you lot! Enjoy your summer, and remember to let us know how you get on when offers come out (preferably with your rank scores, so we can continue helping future applicants!)

    Hi everyone,

I hope you are all enjoying your holiday back home or wherever you are. I am sure you are anxiously waiting for the results to come out.

The HSFY results are likely to come out in the middle of next week as well as STAT. It's likely that MAOR will come out at the end of this week, if not, Monday the following week. I will update my guesses if I obtain any "intelligence" along the way.

The final offers are likely to be released in about a month (precisely).

Please note that what I say here are not facts and I am only flipping my coins to make my guesses.

    Good luck!

    Lol yeah was the 13th last year, 14th in 2015, 13th in 2014, and 14th in 2013.

So an alternating pattern? Stu, isn't one of the first things that you learn about in stats the dangers of extrapolation ;)

    Hi,

I am going to change my prediction for MAOR to some time next week (probably the second half).

    I only do precision.

I am just going with what my coins say!

Holy precision.... Source? Or just a prediction based off previous years?
