any other tips for first year bluebird? is it possible to get HDs if you study hard? i am really keen to become an uber nerd and do anything necessary to smash every subject (only need to do 3 first sem) thus not limiting my options later on if i decide to specialise. so a 2010 first year student will be based at parklands for 2010, southport for 2011 and 2012, and then back to parklands in 2013 provided the new hosp is finished and the world hasn't blown up
edit: congrats on mastery of the mso embedded quote @@@@@. good luck to you and you daughter in your future medical / mso endeavors.
Hey
Well I'm not really one of those give-up-everything-to-get-HDs people. So I'm sitting on a credit average. But yeah, it's totally possible. Especially in first year. Super especially if you've done science in high school.
A girl I met in first year who became my best friend, who became my roommate (and is still my best friend amazingly lol!) is HDing most exams and subjects, and we have identical social lives, as we live together and have the same group of friends. We go out maybe 1 or 2 weekends a month, and have friends around a few nights a week, and go out for lunch and what not, and she's HDing. Im Cing. lol. But yeah, you dont have to give up everything.
I'm not really sure about honours and specialising. Some people are saying that because it's 2 seperate degrees (a bach and then a grad dip) your GPA gets cleared after the first 3 years and starts again in the grad dip. Which I suppose means if you want to specialise and need a good GPA/grades then only the last 2 years count towards this? That only works if that rumour is true, which I haven't looked into. So don't trust me on that.
