Just some general tips and points for the interviews to get you guys warmed up a bit
- Includes 4 stations + 1 rest station
- 8 mins per station (7 mins + 1 min reading time)
Types of stations
ethical scenarios
eg - 2 patients - 24 year old smokes and 60 year old with grandchildren - both need lung transplants - has a lot of factors but comes down to what you think is right and can justify
eg- you are a GP- referred them to see cancer specialist - they say that they have found priest who can heal them - what are the issues - what do you respond to
Communication skills
testing your ability to explain the situation to examiner to be clear in what you are saying
ability to give instructions , how you break down complex ideas into simple ones
Acting stations
given a scenario and have to respond to cues of the actor
respond naturally
take it seriously and as if its real
Personal Questions
personal qualities/ why you want to do medicine
strengths and weaknesses
knowledge of healthcare system / personal experiences in the system
