    MSO revamp thread/to-do list

Hey guys, I would post this in offtopic tags but it doesn't seem to be working for me. I'd like to know how much data was lost during the big makeover (was it last year? Sorry seems so long ago already) and if it's still available somewhere, even if it were just in plain HTML/database data or...

    Studying Medicine: Otago or Auckland

Auckland used to be Overall Score/3 http://medstudentsonline.com.au/forum/threads/actual-auckland-mb-chb-ii-entry-ranking-formulae.29539/ But then it weighs so little it barely counts for anything...

@Winston83 Uhm how confident are you for 107? If you retain most of the basic concepts then it's fine :) (You shouldn't need it that much, there isn't much cellular stuff in 142) [ Wouldn't you keep it so you can see how many trees you killed by doing med? :p ]

    Otago HSFY class of 2015

Not from Otago, but I do the same. Also I like to do what everyone else isn't doing (at auckland generally people start with MCQ, probably cause it's the paper placed on top) so I don't notice and try to catch up to where everyone else is up to.

I'm not too sure, but since they talk about both FY and graduate (In recent years cut-off point has been higher than A- (GPA 7) for both FY and graduate categories) I'm assuming they are talking about overall GPA, but don't quote me on that one...just try do the best you can, it'll help you...

Apparently the course coordinators have to queue with other courses for the machines which can get backlogged etc. then they have to manually convert those who did it in pen, double check those with very low scores e.g. frame shift errors and then double check everything, such as unfair...

After all it is a first year science paper, plus when you compare it to high school bio it isn't really that much of a step up. At 200 pieces of info in 2 hours, it isn't actually that bad ~30-40 seconds per answer, and if you look at the past papers most answers are one word answers, fill in...

For me I did: - Past papers - Cross reference notes with wikipedia/textbook - Draw diagrams, create tables/notes - Basically any way of confirming your knowledge in a method other than it was presented to you in the first place And lots and lots of breaks

Well "hardest subject" is quite subjective, but that said I don't think a "poor" lecturer should become a barrier to your learning...you are likely to encounter other lecturers/people that are possibly just as hard to understand and its part of the learning experience. I hear that people say...

Although I certainly don't know your personality or study habits, I'd happily bet that spending the day outdoors or even half the day out would work wonders for your studies throughout the break.
