    JCU JCU Medicine: Non-Standard Entry

GPA from both years. 'Most recent GPA' refers to the GPA of the most recent degree you've studied - i.e. if you studied something before nursing, they would disregard the GPA of that.

    Quick Questions Thread: 2016 & 2017

Obviously, but one could presume that someone who performs better in all exams/OSCEs would inherently go on to practice somewhat better than someone who borderline passes.

A degree that would be conducive to employment. I.e nursing, physio, pharmacy as opposed to science/biomed. Also be aware, that a GPA of 5 is required. That isn’t difficult, but the harder the degree is the more effort required to do this, in order to honour the provisional agreement.

    Difference Between MD/MBBS

Zero% difference in Australia. Whoever said that MBBS can only become a GP can tell that to every specialist currently practicing in Aus, because 99% of them would be MBBS

    UTAS UTAS Medicine: General Discussion

It is no more unfair than the rurality or indigenous entry schemes because the institution is favouring a specific type of candidate, and to falsely identify/forge this is fraud. Institutions are at complete liberty to select candidates if they believe they will better meet the requirements of...

Having done medentry I agree with this. Speaking from personal experience, Medentry ONLY stands to improve section 3, of which you can YouTube/find free sources online.

Advice Request: No Offers for Med

I sympathise with you, however, I'd be careful to not feel like you deserve to be in medicine because you have worked hard for it, or even said that you deserve it over other people. Medicine isn't a meritocracy in that just because someone works hard they are entitled to it.

    Pre-UMAT 2018 Discussion Thread

For me, I chose the Am because I figured I wouldn’t be getting a whole lot of sleep anyway the night before. So better to wake up and finish it before the sleep deprivation could fully take its toll in the afternoon.

Med and Dent - 2018 Entry (Place Offers and Discussion)

Speaking from experience in allied health, you’re usually allowed an ‘interim’ certification after the 2nd injection - meaning that you can still be in the hospitals

Would suggest giving them a call then. No harm can come of it.

Are you interstate? Maybe interstate released later on? (just guessing, not sure)

Accept, move JMP above UNSW for subsequent round offers, and hope for the best :) If you do get an unbonded JMP offer afterward, can unenroll from UNSW
