You are over stressing. Attendance isn't marked for lectures so you can go to whichever stream you want.

    Information on UQ colleges

Unless things have changed in the last year EMC food is pretty average. Don't know how it fares compared with other colleges though.

Internship places for international medical graduates

Uh wow that's a bit misleading. A lot of doctors come over here fully trained in their specialties, but Aus & NZ have very stringent measures to ensure quality doctors and so rarely recognise overseas specialisation. Hence they are required to undergo training again in their chosen specialty to...

    [Undergrad] Uq med hopeful!

Actually the UQ provisional entry scheme is only for year 12 leavers, so if you don't get in this year unfortunately you can't reapply next year.

    Special Case Deferment?

I would suggest you email the med school admissions directly as they would give you a definitive answer, AFAIK they're quite helpful in this regard.

[Undergrad] 2012 Medicine Entry Advice Thread

Definitely go with UQ. If for nothing else but the fact that you are guaranteed a CSP place, why risk bonded at Griffith if at best it's the same as UQ? The GPA requirement at UQ is now just a 4 which is just a pass (you can't actually go lower than this without failing). The griffith undergrad...

    BSc/MBBS Course selection help

Don't do BIOC, it's not worth it according to the people I've talked to. Also the 2nd sem anatomy isn't really anatomy - it's looking at the composition of muscles etc totally useless. If you can, do immunology in sem 1, it was a good course and will help in med as well. If I had my time again I...

    BSc/MBBS Course selection help

Let's break it down. Study planner: 3 2nd year and 2 3rd year = 5 Program rules: 3 3rd years and 4 2nd years or 4 third years and 3 2nd years = 7 5 does not = 7. You get that right? Because it doesn't work if the minimum requirements of the study planner and the program requirements are different.

    BSc/MBBS Course selection help

Um you right there dude? Obviously both of these would be referring to minimum requirements, including the program rules/ones you posted. The point is the minimum requirements should all match up.

    'Rote Learning'

There are definitely some topics in which you can't avoid rote learning (e.g. some details of muscles in anatomy, drug names etc). So I'd say you'll be facing it at some point during med.

    [Undergrad] UWA Conditional Interview Offer

If you've already got a place at UQ I wouldn't bother, it's already a provisional pathway and is closer to home. Also the UWA pathway may be an extra year? (not sure about this).

JCU Med 2012 (Interview and Admissions Offers)

With CSP you have the option of paying the student contribution upfront (and getting a 20% discount I believe) or deferring it as HECS and paying it later from you salary.

    What to bring to college?

Bring linen (including pillows etc). You might also want to bring a bar fridge if you don't like college food.

    BSc/MBBS Course selection help

It's confusing because the program rules don't match up with the study planner. Even the ones you've put here - 'do 7 second or third year courses', study planner only says 3 2nd year and 2 3rd year = 5. But yeah follow the study planner and you'll be fine.
