Advice - PGY2 in Brisbane - Award agreement for RMOs

Hi all,

I am currently undertaking PGY1 training in Perth and have been offered a RMO position at Princess Alexandra Hospital in Brisbane. I am trying to get some advice regarding working arrangements in Qld - the Medical Officers Agreement 2015 is rather vague in terms of RMOs (predominantly focused on consultant/senior medical officer working conditions). Accordingly, I have a few questions I hope a Brisnite/Qld-based junior doctor could answer:
1. Do JMOs/RMO get penalty rates for rostered after hours/weekend work?
2. What are the general working conditions like?
3. Would you recommend working in Brisbane/Qld as an RMO - has the Newman government effect on the medical workforce resolved?

Any advice/info would be greatly appreciated.

Best regards

I suspect you might get a faster answer from our friends over at Paging Dr (www.pagingdr.net).
