Commercial UCAT Preparation Resources

Hi,
I was wondering if commercial UCAT resources should be bought?
Even though the UCAT has been introduced into Australia a few days ago, all the previous UMAT companies have now switched to UCAT styled packages and claiming it to be an exact reflection of the actual UCAT.I am really confused and any help would be appreciated.

Cheers

I personally would not recommend buying any of the Australian prep company resources for UCAT. Considering it has been such a short time since announcement, all the resources that have been made are likely to be rushed and an attempt to quickly adjust so as not to lose business.

dont buy previously UMAT providers who claim to be selling UCAT (e.g. Medentry).
Look at buying books on the UKCAT (From the UK e.g. amazon) because the UKCAT is identical to the UCAT.
agreed. Not only will those books better reflect the content of the actual UCAT, they are also significantly cheaper than any prep course you may choose to take.

The above books will give some heads up in preparing for the UCAT, which I expect will mirror the UKCAT format. It is surprising to note that KAPLAN is also available. So, with a plethora of materials, and with some online testing as well for preparations, I am interested to see what Medentry is going to come up with more than what is already available online and through the books for much less cost. All the best.

These books are pretty handy, I purchased one to familiarise myself with the layout of UCAT and what the questions may be like. I love how they actually break down the question in multiple ways in the answers part, not just one so that you can find a way that works best for you.

What about buying medify?
It is AU$120 for 6months while NIE is around 180. Would NIE have specific info for ucat?

They offer full support tutoring, (which means u can ask them pretty much questions through an chat system). Medify is $120 while NIE is $149 for 6months, so I think the support is worth the extra 30 bucks. Plus they are an Australian company so they know the australian processes for applications etc. up 2 u tho

I've been having tutoring with Medic Mind (UK Company) for the past 3 weeks and have to say I'm finding it really useful so far but will keep you updated. I came across them from their YouTube tutorials they do for UKCAT so worth checking them out if you're looking for any free resources I think. They charge 65AUD per hour so worth maybe having an hour or two just to see if it's for you

I have personally veered into the UKCAT world and didn't contemplate using any source of Australian content. From the BookDepository I have purchased two of the books, which I am aware are not great to practice with because they don't replicate the screen experience, especially with Abstract Reasoning. I have also been using the UKCAT question bank from The Medic Portal but I question this because I am already Band One in situational awareness despite having no real...awareness of it UKCAT Questions - Get Started With Free UKCAT Questions

Sorry forgot to link this - Medic Mind 1-1 Tutoring - Worth a free consultation at least.

I think UCAT isn't so bad, will just take some practice but I think we'll be all right gang

Medentry has some promo now. Has anyone purchased it yet?
I am not loving their rhetoric around their UCAT expertise, all they have done is substituted UMAT for UCAT.

I have gone through NIE with their Medify package, and I am playing it safe and using UKCAT based resources coming from the source over Australian companies who are also as new to the exam as we as students are.

Further to hhitch comment above, I also heard that NIE is probably the most experienced for UCAT so far given their partnership with Medify. My bf is tutoring a student in UCAT next year and he recommended NIE.

Hey guys, I've purchased the 8 months Medify package, been using it for about a month now and I would say it's definitely worth the money (the question bank is huge and there're also detailed explanations for each question, highly recommend trying it out!!). But one thing I've noticed is that it doesn't go too deep into teaching you the techniques and reliable shortcuts for improving efficiency and accuracy. I'm just wondering if anyone have bought or would recommend any other resources that focus on teaching techniques. I'm looking into Medic Mind as their free Youtube tutorials seem quiet appealing to me. Can someone pls offer me some suggestions??? Thanks :)
