Then I guess it is indeed guaranteed
Uh no. The reason why it isn't guaranteed is because of the additional non-ATAR admission criteria and limited space available. It would be foolish for an institution to list such requirement as guaranteed because... well... it simply isn't guaranteed.

1) Mathematics Advanced Prerequisite
2) Assessment Day
3) Limited spots under the MySydney scheme (you will need to have received confirmation by USYD; If you have not received such confirmation of MySydney, YOU ARE NOT ELIGIBLE FOR MYSYDNEY)

What I meant by guaranteed is a guaranteed interview not offer of admission.
Also, do you have any idea about the number of MySydney spots? Is the ratio of interviewees to available spots higher than the normal admission pathway?
Thanks very much in advance

1) If a student has not done Mathematics Advanced or equivalent regardless of what ATAR they receive, they will NOT be successful.
3) If a student has not received a MySydney confirmation, they are not eligible and henceforth will require a 99.95 (with a requirement to complete Mathematics Advanced or equivalent). If this said student got 99.7 (and has completed Mathematics Advanced) then they will not be successful.

Not known to anyone other than the folks working in medicine admissions at USYD.
