Hi guys,

Just thought I would introduce myself as I have used MSO as a valuable source of information.

I am a Dental Technician specialising in crown and bridge though I can perform most laboratory tasks, Ive just graduated from UON in BOH and Im now pursuing BDS. Im fortunate enough to have received a place at CSU for 2015.

Im not looking forward to being in first year again but I am stoked to have my place in the program I have worked so hard to receive.

As a techo my biggest frustrations are overly conservative tooth preps and lack of use of retraction cord in crown and bridge cases.

I love working as a techo and its exciting for me to be able to eventually take cases from start to finish, and BTW, be good to your techos!

Thanks BuccalCusp for the msg, I cant reply yet.

Thanks for having me on board,

Tim

Hi Tim! Congrats! and welcome to MSO! I'll be starting BDS at CSU aswell this year, and I'm a mature age student too :D I'm glad there's more of us out there! Your background in Dent sounds awesome. And you sound really passionate about it too!

Oh, p.s I'll e 36 when I graduate (hoping no delays!) so you're still good! ;)

Hi Dot, congrats on your offer too. Thanks for your message and kind words. 36 is not too bad either, I'm facing my 30th Birthday on Sunday so that is a huge emotional hurdle for me. I see your a pharmacist, that's going to be such a huge help for you, its one thing I found quite challenging in BOH but I am now very well acquainted with MIMS and still trying to learn medications (it never ends) and their oral implications (xerostomia is a big one).

Looking forward to getting started and seems like there is a great group of students, hope were not the only "oldies" (I cant believe I just said that:unsure:). There is so much to do, looking for rentals now and hoping for a job within the first couple of months.
