Congrats guys! Question: so does this mean rurality is still counted in UTas process for non-standard applicants?

It would seem so despite all previous evidence (and a report from 1 x Med admin) to the contrary!

LMG, I'm so pleased that you got an offer also, especially after the crazy amount of work you've put in through this forum! I've lurked on MSO for a couple of years and all the information you've shared in that time has really helped to keep me sane, haha.

Hopefully this helps!! Not too stressed because UTas is lower on my preferences- hopefully this doesn't reflect what January will look like!

Hopefully I'll get into Med but at least this is here now as a backup of sorts. Now I have two backups, this and Otago HSFY but hopefully I won't need to choose either.

First of all congratz to everyone receiving their offers!
Second I was hoping someone could clarify something for me, I am currently enrolled in a degree at UON (just finished first year) and am hoping to move to med next year (Ive done interviews at WSU and UON) and was wondering if i need to un-enroll from my current degree in order to receive offers through UAC or not.

I don't believe you have to un-enroll to receive offers, but in order to accept the offer you have to?
Most of this stuff is listed on this page: FAQs Undergraduate - Offers. I think some of the other members who are currently at uni can confirm this.

You don't have to un-enrol to receive offers, and you don't have to (until census date in March) if your med offer is at another uni. If same uni, at least for WSU, the option to enrol med appears under your current student number so you wouldn't be able to double up if you already enrolled other units for the next semester. Probably similar for UoN.

Congrats. This looks to me like a direct offer from CSU ie. bypassing UAC at this stage. Even accepting it now you'll still be in the running for the other 3 UAC prefs higher than CSU, and same for your interstate applications.

    Offer Received: Yes
    University: UTAS
UMAT: 50% -- Pretty bad I know haha.
ATAR or GPA: Not out yet, I think predicted was 97/98
    Special Considerations: rural
Other Information: I'm interstate, never been to tasmania or lived away from home for more than a month so not sure how this is going to turn out. If I don't get an offer from my state I plan on accepting UTAS' offer.

I've been meaning to get back to you on this very topic! My offer came in about 4 hours after your comment, I think!! We gave Stuart a very roller coaster afternoon :D

Well I have an email from UAC (sent at 12:44am) congratulating me on my offer for undergraduate study. It won't feel real until I can see it and accept, but I think I'm in.

(Also I'm not a crazy person getting up and checking my offers at 3am, I have a 4 month old so I'm basically nocturnal at this point)

I was seriously so impressed with WSU Med's facilities for studying mothers/parents. Given the lecture theatre is basically only for Med students, the fact that it's set up the way it is clearly indicates they expect to have students in your position accepted into the course, which is also fabulous.

Congratulations. I'm pretty sure I'm going to stick to UTAS, though I have considered the possible benefits and differences that would arise if I took the opportunity to move to NSW. I would have loved studying with you, but will hopefully see you at conventions or other Med type things!
