Rural Placement Opportunities

I have a question:
I am currently a 1st year medical student at UNSW. I got in through the rural entry scheme, meaning that I have to complete at least 2 years of degree (6 years) in a rural hospital. Should I do rural for only 2 years? or should I do rural for 3 or 4 years.

I am not sure where clinical skills are better

I think you would find value in having diverse experiences.

if you also do a high number of years in rural areas it might limit your exposure to specific subspecialties which you could want to do in the future.

I’d pick 2 years. 4 is too long out of the central system and your peers at student level.
