follow the official UCAT calculator. The MedEntry calculator uses a theoretical normal distribution, and while the UCAT is normal distribution-like, it does not exactly line up, hence why you get a 89%ile instead of a 90%ile. tl;dr follow ucat anz website.

Applying for:
Medicine
Application Type: School Leaver (NZ Year 13)
Predicted ATAR/GPA: hopefully 99.95 depending on CIE results
UCAT Percentile Rank: 93
VR: 550
DM: 700
QR: 860
AR: 770
Total: 2880
SJ:
627
Current State: Auckland NZ
Applying to: In order of preference - Monash, USyd, Adelaide, Griffith, Flinders, UQ
Rural Applicant: No
GWS Applicant: No

Specific Question: Just what are my chances of securing an interview and then offer. I know Monash hopes are probably over with that UCAT and them giving pref to Victorians but would still appreciate a chance of interview in terms of %.

You should get interview with Curtin and psycho test with Bond.
I'm optimistic 89%ile will get a JMP interview. It's likely too low for WSU though.

For UNSW interview I need to know your ATAR. With 89%ile you will likely need around 99.5 equiv Rank, your completed degree 6.2 gives ~99.3 so you need ATAR 99.7 to combine to 99.5.

You can also try JCU.

Rural Applicant: No
GWS Applicant: No
Indigenous Applicant: No
Other: No
Specific Question: Do you think I am doing the correct thing by not bothering to apply to UNSW? Also I am convinced I won't get a WSU interview based on my SJ, to say I neglected it (to the point I skipped all the questions in my mocks) after I heard the JMP wasn't going to bother with it is an understatement, and now I am kicking myself.

Your SJ score is not that bad so don't give up on WSU yet.
Also I don't know why you don't want to try UNSW. Your GPA 6.5 gives 99.5, combines with 99.3 to 99.4 equiv Rank. That with 95%ile will get you an interview with about 40% offer chance. Better chance than JMP & WSU.

I was going to say you might get UQ bonded until I realised you are from NZ ineligible for BMP.

If indeed 99.95 you will get an offer from Flinders, Griffith and interviews with all the schools you mentioned with about 60% offer chance for USyd, maybe 40% Monash, 30% Adelaide.

But note carefully you have to ensure your CIE results + ATAR conversion are available to the TACs by early January to be considered.

Very high chances you will get an interview with both schools. I remember section1 cutoff for JMP rural was as low as 52 (mid-50s %ile). Last year several rurals got WSU interviews then offers with low-70s %ile as shown in the collated data
> Aus Med and Dent Place Offers 2019 - Collated Data

You should also apply to JCU, being RA3 plus 6.7 GPA will give very good chances. Good luck.

Section 1 rural for JMP was 50 at least the last three years, possibly longer than that.

Based on 99.45 Flinders is definitely out of reach. Unlikely for Griffith Nathan/GC, borderline for USC if its cutoff drops a little.
UTas is possible if they are going to apply the new selection formula as published.

You should get a JMP interview, but unfortunately that’s probably all. WSU is a little hard to tell, so keep your fingers crossed there, but, historically, you’d have needed closer to 95th%ile. Very, very unlikely for UNSW.

JCU will be tough but if you can nail a written application, then you could certainly nab an interview.

Good luck.

You likely will get an interview with WSU, more definitely one with JMP.
JCU is largely dependent on your written application. No idea on the NZ unis sorry.
