UCAT Percentile Rank: 92
VR: 640

QR: 760
AR: 830
Total: 2990
SJ: 715
Possible WSU Formula Total (58%VR + 12%DM + 12%QR + 18%AR): 703
Current State:
NSW
Applying to: WSU, Newcastle/JMP, JCU, UNSW
Rural Applicant: no
GWS Applicant: no
Indigenous Applicant:
no
Other: Studying bachelor of Physiotherapy at UoN
Specific Question:
What are my chances for an interview, particulalry for JMP?
Last year you would not have received an interview as 93rd%ile was required. We have heard reports that JMP may be interviewing less applicants this and that they’ll be able to interview more applicants via their BBioMedSci pathway, which may actually push the requirement up this year, making your 92nd%ile very borderline. Keep your fingers crossed, but also, realistically, prepare for continuing your current degree/some other plan. Good luck!

Specific Question: How would UNSW rank their applicants? Could a higher ATAR/UCAT possibly 'compensate' for a lower interview score?

Thank you!

Also, what do you think my chances are for each uni w/o EAS?
Thank you!

For the combo schools (i.e. not JMP/WSU) they certainly do, that's why we always see more offers going to high ATAR+UCAT applicants. However with UNSW we believe there's an "auto-rejection" cutoff for the interview, if you're below it your ATAR+UCAT won't help no matter how high.

You should get an interview from every ATAR/UCAT school (except possibly Monash) with or without EAS. If you do get EAS I'll be surprised if you don't get one or more place offers. Good luck.

Chance of the percentiles going lower are extremely unlikely.

Interview : WSU (A bit unlikely)

JMP : Unlikely

CSU Dent : Unlikely

Thanks for ur response!

Do you know if UNSW will use ur predicted or Actual atar for interview offers and placement?

For place offers they always use actual ATAR.
For interview invites UNSW had used predicted ATAR before but switched to actual last 2-3 years (thus very late invites). It's the big question I have sent to UNSW (no reply yet) which they will use this year.

This person got a BMP last year (so obviously got an interview first), UCAT: 73rd%ile, ATAR: 98.90, RA3 so I’d think you’re in with a decent shot. Good luck.

Sorry to burst your bubble but have a look at the 2021 UCAT percentile statistics, a 2960 is a 90th this year so you are just a touch under. With your combination, I think UNSW is possible with EAS, JMP is unlikely but JPM is possible since you are GWS, UWA is highly unlikely and UAdel is a no (cutoff was 96+ last year), monash is also a no because interstate residents need a .9 and a 95+ to even clinch an interview.
From your list, it looks like UNSW and JPM are your best bets.
Do you think UQ, UQ Dent, Griffith & Griffith Dent are probable for Shu99?
Thanks!

If things go as they did last year (no guarantee but fingers crossed), you should get a JPM interview, but would be unlikely to get JMP.
Good luck!

WSU interview is unlikely due to sub-par VR. Adelaide Dent should be yes since (I think) it's solely UCAT based.

In previous years you wouldn't get UNSW interview due to them using (ATAR+GPA)/2. Now they use "best of" so GPA 7.0 + 96th%ile should be yes.

Btw aren't you trying for JMP, why not?

Specific Question: Worried about my SJT score affecting my eligibility at WSU for interview invites and then for actual place offer, I sat the proctored exam and kinda had to rush through SJT. In the WSU webinar the lady said that SJT is included but then spoke about it being marked into Bands (which is for UCAT UK) and not into an actual score so that makes me doubt whether they are just saying they use it or the lady just isn't sure.

From memory, we’ve not seen evidence of JMP/WSU using SJ in a way that affects interview invites or offers.
