Exam study procrastination at its finest right here...

Please use the following template to make initial posts. Posts not using this format will be edited/deleted. Questions are not compulsory, but if you have one you’d like answered, for example, “what are my chances of…” then use of the template is vital.

Overall UMAT Score:

Section Two:
Section Three:
Overall Percentile Rank:
Estimated ATAR/GPA:
Preferred University:
Course Type:
(Medicine/Dentistry/both)
Application type: (school leaver, gap year, non-standard)
State: (the Australian state you live in, this is relevant for some courses)
Rural: (yes/no)
Indigenous Applicant: (yes/no)
GWS: (yes/no)
Other Bonuses: (yes/no)

Question/s: (optional. Please be as specific as possible)

If you wish to ask a more general question, or would like to report only part of your results/personal information profile, and do not feel comfortable sharing all of the information requested above, please make it clear which fields you are deliberately leaving blank so that we can attempt to answer your question/s without pestering you for more information. Though, please note, if you choose to do this (which you are more than welcome to do), obviously any answers provided will also be more general in nature.

We generally also have a Results Only (no discussion) thread, but it doesn't tend to get much traffic so I'm thinking we can probably do without it. If anyone strongly disagrees, please let me know. It's an easy fix :D

Yes for JMP. Possibly right on the mark for WSU given your GWS status. Probably not for UNSW. That said, EAS will definitely help with UNSW and that may see you over the line. EAS makes things harder to predict.

Congrats!

Unfortunately probably not for either of those. You’d have needed 60+ (maybe as low as 58) for JMP S1, and closer to 130 for S1+S2 for WSU.

For some unis, yes, a 49 makes you ineligible. This includes JMP and Curtin off the top of my head, unfortunately.

Been on edge since Monday, but so relieved now. From what I understand the unis that I can apply for are JMP, WSU and UNSW? What are the chances of getting a UNSW interview, my atar back in 2016 was alright but my GPA is pretty underwhelming. Thanks in advance for any responses!

Yep, JMP interview. WSU - you've met the GPA cutoff but I think it's a combined 128 (S1+S2) needed for UMAT unless you're from GWS in which case it's a maybe! Not sure how much bearing your low EAS status would make. Might be a tad too low for UNSW (but again it's hard to tell with EAS).

EDIT: Okay, LMG! You are heaps faster at replying to these than I. Haha.

I think you’ll be looking at unis with no UMAT, unfortunately. Your focus now should be ATAR in the hope of pushing it a little higher to bring Griffith etc into play.

Your rural status might get you over the line for a UNSW interview depending on what your ATAR was as it’ll be added to your GPA.

Unfortunately you’ll miss out on JMP and WSU.

JCU is a good option for you given your GPA and rural status.
