Speed-reading is going to work ~against you if you're prone to mis-reading S1 questions, I would think. I'd be skipping that technique.

The strategy I use, for want of a better term, is literally just to mentally remind myself that I mis-read, and to ~slow ~down. It's not an issue (for me) in sections 2 & 3, so giving myself a few extra breaths for section 1 questions is doable. I am on the look out for questions that ask for 'incorrect' responses, etc. I use my awareness of my weaknesses in my favour. If that makes sense.

ETA: as for a GPA of 7.0 being of benefit, it depends where you're applying to. GPA is often a hurdle requirement, so having 6.0 is no better or worse than having 7.0. JCU is an exception to this. I'm not sure about Curtin.
