Interestingly, why would they phone some and not others?

I think the general idea is they try to call the people who are receiving offers but not all calls are made before the offers are officially released through QTAC.

Yes, calls happen over a few days (info based on last years JCU offers thread - have a read through it if you're interested).

Last year calls were made over two days (10th and 11th Jan). Not all those who received offers from QTAC had received calls.

The IB have 6 subjects all ourt of 7 and 3 extra points for Extended essay and theory of knowledge. I did well in the subject points but not in the extras

I missed a call from a private number around 1:10pm today, how do I check this was just not a pesky coincidence :/ !!

Last year a voicemail was left for students who missed the call.
