Bond Bond Medicine: General Discussion

I'm applying for graduate entry, does anyone know what lowest GPA was that received an invitation to the psychometric testing? I read earlier on the forum that people with a GPA of 5 got one but where they apply as a graduate entry? I'm a little confused because on Bond's website it said a minimum requirement of a GPA of 6.

The person who got in with a 5 GPA was undergraduate. I’m not too sure about the lowest GPA they considered for postgraduate. Sorry!

There was a masters student who had a completed bachelors degree with a 6.2 and she got an offer a bond.

Last year, they invited ATARs down to 97.00 I think. As long as you have Chemistry/Physics or Maths with an ATAR of 97+ you should get an invite for Psychometric test. I did (99.20) and got into the interview, declined it as I had the offer from the UK in a reputable ranked university in the world, with the cost about $150K lower for the program. I will get back to Australia for work if I prefer later on after my FY (Internship) years. Good luck to everyone.
Just wondering which UK University you were accepted into for medicine and how you applied (what the process is). Also, will you be able to come back to Australia and work as well as progress your specialisation?

An example of one of the questions was a picture of a group of rocks and the question asked ‘how do these objects make you feel?’ With answer choices of ‘sad, angry, indignant’
The questions are fairly abstract and I don’t think you can really ‘prepare’ for the test

Plus there’s no right or wrong answer, rather your answers reflect what kind of personality you exhibit, eg empathetic, respectful

Thanks. What would be the best answer/answer they are looking for, for such a question

Ahahaha wtf sort of question is that? Bond be clowning people in these tests lol

I can see the pulse rate increasing...take it easy guys, as long as you had the pre-requisite subjects taken in HSC and achieved the ATAR of over 97.5+, I think you are pretty much assured of a spot for the next phase (speaking from experience) unless QTAC stuffs up the case or Bond increases the ATAR threshold this year. Good luck.

After taking UKCAT, you need to apply through UCAS portal. The choices are limited to four universities only for Medicine. Most Universities take the UKCAT score but some insist on BMAT (Oxford, Cambridge, Univ College London (ranked within 10 in the world), Imperial College etc...). I wrote both UKCAT and BMAT and got accepted into three of my choices from UKCAT consortium as well as BMAT choices. I chose the BMAT choice to go to. My scores in UKCAT were comparatively much better than UMAT (94%ile), felt comfortable with MMIs over there. Probably my stars were good those days.

There is a lot said about you can never come back and work in Australia and next to impossible (less than 0.5% or so)etc... It is partially true, but in my experience, nearly 5 students who finished Med recently in the UK and Foundation Year 1 have all got placement within a few months in Australia. It's not straight forward but they took the steps to apply to various states including Rural. You get GMC full accreditation (World recognised) after FY1 and possibly get placement after FY2 to SRMO/ Registrar postings within the United Kingdom. On completion of FY2, you can get placement in Australia to a Medical Registrar 1 level barring vacancies in the hospital. Four doctors have been accepted with restricted registration t0 Med Reg1 level first, and eventually got full registration on completion of one year and with the recommendation from the working hospital to the Medical Board of Australia. These students completed 5 years of Medicine and 2 years of Foundation Years (Total 7 years). They got accepted as Med Reg 1 level positions. I am not sure how long it would take to get to Med Reg1 for local students here, correct me if I am wrong. (If it is 6 years course, 6+1+2 =9 or 5 years course, 5+1+2=8). You have to be in to win it if Medicine is all you want to do.

Fortunes sometimes favours the bravest. Good luck and Good night.

anyone get anything. I havent gotten anything yet.
