Just wondering with the queensland system of OP1 and whatever, does that mean when JCU sees our ATAR, will they convert it to OP1 or consider the actual ATAR? What im trying to say is that does it matter if you 98.9 or 99.9 because they are both OP1 equivelant?

yeah, it does matter, because while they r all classified as OP1's, there is then another ranking system based on the OP 1's. so every increment of 0.05 is pivotal. so 99.9 will be better and have a bigger advantage compared to 99.8, when assessing time for offers come around.

but i just hve a question. i got a letter from jcu accommodation saying that i was unsuccessful in gaining an offer for any halls of residence or colleges before the end of december. the letter said they will reconsider my application after the first qtac offer round on the 14th of jan 2010. did any1 else get this letter? i applied in early november, so i was wondering whether that may be the reason .

however, i was thinking whether not getting an accomodation offer at jcu:unsure: before the end of december means that i also did not get a first round offer in january for the mbbs program at jcu.

ill appreciate any opinions on this matter. thnx a lot

i doubt the accom will have anything to do with mbbs. the reason they say they will reconsider after QTAC is because a lot of applicant might get into another uni/opt for their home state and then reject accom at jcu so places will free up and they'll reassess previously rejected applicants

thx for that ctu_max,
i heard the dean of med actually rings out to only successful applicants in december before the first qtac offer round for jcu medicine
all we can do is hope

I know how you feel

I got the same letter...email.JCU accom is not first in , first served.They"choose".I applied at the same time as I sent my jcu appl..sept.How they choose?!!!

I dont know why they do what they do.Like you I worried, but then I got an interview.I know one person last year,op3, nsw ,not rural ,got in last min to the course...and got accom offer 4 weeks after the course started.
I dont think he took up the offer of accom.

Hope that helps you and others clarify.

I just want to know how much the interview was worth!

I agree

hey try ringing jcu and asking!(yy)

I think it will 50/50...whats fair?Hmm..I am not sure.

I think the min atar is prob diff for interstate versus local/rural/schools attended.Maybe they dont look at your atar at all just app.I have heard there are locals who got in with 0p7,and interstate people with 0p3.

mmm i may later today. Hey do you by any chance kno how many positions for non-school leavers are accepted into dentistry.. that is my second option.

No sorry

I dont, but again, ask them IF you can get onto anyone at the uni.

Make sure you post what they say,or pm me,even if its nothing...or no comment.

Hehe, I flew to my interview on my own but I do wish I had one of my siblings come with me, it would've been more interesting for one.
