Non-standard Medicine Entry

I am looking to apply to WSU or JMP med as a first year uni student. I am eligible for both the GWS and rural pathway. Considering that there are much more total spots available to the GWS pool would it be better to apply as a GWS applicant or rural? This is assuming I get a high enough UCAT to choose, if it is lower than the cutoff, I will use the rural pathway.

JMP doesn't have GWS so obviously you should apply as rural.

Most WSU rural places have been transferred to CSU. So I suggest you apply to WSU as GWS if your UCAT is good enough, and CSU as rural. Best of both world ;-)

Hi have a couple more questions for unsw specifically:

1. Does SCATS boost GPA/selection rank if u already have the max gpa? Or does it also boost ur ATAR

2. Do I apply to SCATS if I had been disadvantaged in high school mainly not so much in tertiary studies (still slightly) cuz the website says if u experienced educational disadvantage that effected your tertiary or secondary performance?

JCU has a quota around 20-30 out of 150 for non standard. Bond has a small, Curtin very small quota for graduate entries.
The other schools UNSW, WSU, JMP no quota.
