omg you've put exactly same halls as me but just different order. I put down St margs, carrington, and Hayward. Hoping the best for St Margs. 🙏
It's kinda nervous and scary 😨

They come out today 😮

Does anyone know what would be recommended to bring to when living in a hall? Things that aren’t on the list eg. a multi plug

Would you say it would be worth buying an Ipad for taking notes on onenote during lectures? Is it faster than pen and paper. I feel as though pen and paper is more beneficial for the brain however I write very sluggish and get thrown off if diagrams aren’t perfect. Hence on the ipad you can draw a perfect circle.

I got into Te Rangihiroa!!! Which hall did you guys get in??
I have absolutely no idea what else to bring lmaooo I'll worry about it in february before i leave

I'd definitely recommend an ipad instead of pen and paper. it'll be more organised and you wont have to carry many papers around i guess!

No more Kmart in Dunedin but Warehouse is nearby so if one of your friends has a car, just buy stuff you need from there or have it delivered to the hall.

You'll take a while finding what works for you. I went from pen and paper, to using a tablet and writing notes with a stylus, to just laptop and typing things on OneNote. You'll have to experiment for a while to find out what works for you. Personally, typing was the fastest and if I needed to do the occasional drawing, having a stylus for my laptop was handy to have.

Hows everyone feeling to be moving down in a few weeks , to any past carrington attendees or any people who lived in halls, what are some of the things ud recommend taking down thats not on the packing list?? best storage stuff, do u need coffee things, lights, anything?🤠👽

Hey there, I was at Carry last year :) You definitely don't need coffee things as the hall has nice coffee machines, but lights can be fun to customize your room. I suggest bringing some slides/ jandals for the shower and a shower bag to bring back and forth from your room. I'd suggest buying a drying rack down here if you end up in Jenkins/ any house without an accessible clothing line. The hall doesn't recommend drying clothes in your room but some clothes are too delicate for the dryer and it can be a lifesaver once you've done your washing and realized some of your clothes are still damp! Lastly if you/ your friends drink I also suggest having baking soda handy in case anyone vomits on your carpet (speaking from experience haha). Hope this helps!

hello :)
i wasnt entirely sure where to ask this question but i feel here might be best. i have applied to be a subwarden for 2025 and have an interview coming up- i was just wondering if anyone here has been a subwarden, and if so do you have any advice for interviewing?
thank you!

Hi, I was wondering if someone would be able to give me advice on my halls rankings? I'm planning on ranking Carrington first, then Caroline Freeman and then Hayward. I was wondering if this was a bad selection/ranking? As I'm doing HSFY, I want good academic support, but I don't want it to be a completely isolating year. Thanks
