I have found I was eligible for an Adelaide university med interview, but on the booking site there aren't anymore time slots left. Does this mean I can't complete an interview? why would they offer it to more people than they had time slots for

Hi There. Im currently in my second year of tertiary education and would really appreciate if someone was able to let me know what my chances are at WSU and JMP. From my understanding my WSU score would really be cutting it close as i am not GWS so im a bit worried. Similarly, i'm worried about JMP considering the increase in scores.

VR: 760
DM: 780
QR: 830
AR: 890
Total: 3260
SJ: 639
WSU score (58% VR, 12% DM, 12% QR, 18% AR): 796.66
Predicted/Actual ATAR/GPA: 6.2 GPA
Rural: (yes/no and rural ranking if known/applicable): N/A
State: NSW
Other Special Considerations: (inc. GWS, EAS, indigenous pathway, Broadway, Monash Guarantee, etc): Nil

I'm optimistic that 3260 97%ile will get JMP interview.

WSU was around 780 for NSW last year. The increase of 60 UCAT marks this year is roughly +15 on per-section basis so your 796.66 should make it. Best of luck.

Thank you!
This is my first year doing the UCAT or even considering medicine as a career as prior to this year I have wanted to become a psychologist. I am in my second-year of psychology but realised medicine would be a better fit for me. However, i'd still recommend psychology because from my point of view, a lot of the content learnt can contribute to the formation of a well-rounded health practitioner, regardless of field.
Are you in year 12?

Previous Clin Psych, now Doctor here…

I completely agree 😍😂🤷🏼‍♀️
Best of luck!

Are you two interested in psychiatry as a result of your experience in psychology? And for LMG, how did your psychology degree help you throughout your medical studies as well as in being a doctor?

Does JMP have lower UCAT cut off for local students than interstate?

WSU formula 831 interstate non rural - haven't got any invite yet so far from WSU. Just wondering if not invited, will they send out a rejection email?

Iirc WSU did send out rejection emails 3-4 days afterwards but only to those who were quite below the cutoffs, not the borderline ones who still have a chance for a top-up invite (if there are untaken slots after interview booking closes).
