Hello, I'm a second year right now but asking for a friend (3rd year neuro major) who has a predicted gpa of 8.75 if they take three 300-levels next semester and gets all A+. But if they take four 300-levels to replace a bad one, and gets all a+ then predicted could increase to 8.8. What do you think I should recomend to them? Their applying for med and dent

The uncertainty is killerrrrr. Least they could do is redo the admission statistics in the context of the new system so we can just get some sort of idea but thats not happening

Like if I’m thinking and u know the grade max last year was 10.3 or something and the min was 8.15 im thinking now that it’s capped at 9 maybe the grade min will be like 7.15 or like 7 u know (but that’s extremely hopeful thinking)

yea it makes sense so I think that its very possible.

I think they still do but just not as much as they affected the previous GPA calculation.

pxss papers won't count if you take them in the year of your application though

I'm still a bit confused on the whole GPA system now. When they say they are taking the best 240 points from 100 and 200 level, does this mean that the points taken into account will be spread equally across both levels (best 7 papers from 100 and best 7 from 200), or would it mean something else?

Hi, I'm asking for the same friend - theyre not sure if they're calculating theyre GPA right, would anyone want to double-check for them because I'm not sure I'm doing it right to (they asked if it was okay to post on here)? Tried going to AskOtago but they said they wouldn't calculate

Hey guys a third year student here, i calculated my gpa with the new gpa spreadsheet and it dropped down to 7.2 Do we think there is any way I could get in

Feeling quite depressed cause I planned of doing 2 pxsummer papers and didn’t take 5 papers last sem or the sem before that and was on track to get 8.4

u could try do 5 papers this sem, and also maybe look if u can take 100 level and icnrease that gpa and so overall
