Second-Third wave of uws interviews have been released! Got a call in the arvo just after 1 from Penny Lee with an offer for a uws interview (i'm gws btw). This is sooo exciting!!!!

My friend with a weighted umat of 137.5 (gws) also got one so that is the new cutoff I presume.

I don't know if there is a second round of offers based on UMAT, but I know there are second round interviews for GWS and non GWS, who either didn't initially meet the academic threshold, or for those who are interstate. I believe it's held sometime in January.

27th of Janurary and only 1 session, it's for interstaters and those who achieved a higher than expected GPA (or achieve 5.5 by the end of the year), ATAR (above their poor estimate, etc, but have already made the UMAT threshold. There will be a limited number of people in this interview ~20 and a max of around 24 (last year it was 20 or 21, most were interstaters except for a small handful of students).

Just got a call from UWS for an interview!! Yay!! Anyways, that means that non-GWS threshold is now down to 152 =D

Remember 2,700 other people got rejected. I guess this is another reason why UWS doesn't release cut-offs, it sux to be close.

Just a note: if you don't intend to sit the interview (other early offer/what other reason) and don't have the decency to notify the medical school FU, coz the place cannot be given/refilled in the late round, etc. I was disgusted by the number of no-shows albeit a very small number but still!

i agree. i don't understand why people won't make a 2min phone call which will give someone else a chance to study med. i actually had to spend half an hour convincing a friend who wasn't taking an interview to call them up. it was quite ridiculous.
