I am not totally getting what you said but I trust you. I will move WSU higher than UNSW. What about UN? How would you put it? (I am non-standard entry)There may be a good reason to muck around between UNSW & WSU though. Say you prefer UNSW in general but would prefer WSU unbonded > UNSW bonded, in this case you might want to take a chance with putting WSU higher than UNSW.
Reason being if you get a WSU offer (bonded or unbonded) in the mid-Jan offer round, you can accept it then move UNSW to 1st pref. With luck you might get a UNSW offer in the Feb offer round. If the offers are both unbonded or both bonded you choose UNSW, if one is unbonded you decline the bonded.
You can't do the other way around with UNSW 1st pref for the mid-Jan round, since WSU is unlikely to make Feb offers other than top-ups.

It makes sense now. You are the legend. thank youIn this context UoN/JMP is similar to UNSW so for now put WSU highest then either UNSW or JMP next in your actual pref order.
To understand the nuances of this you need to know how the offer rounds work. WSU interviews both instate+interstate in the same round, otoh UNSW & JMP interview instate for the mid-Jan offer round then interstate for the Feb offer round. However in the Feb offer round UNSW/JMP include the remaining instate applicants in the running too.
So the difference is - if you put UNSW/JMP 1st pref and get a bonded offer, you don't have a WSU Feb round to try your luck for unbonded there. Otoh if you put WSU 1st pref and get a bonded offer, you can participate in UNSW's Feb round for unbonded.

anyone know how preferencing works for rural? we interview earlier in most cases.
USyd's selection criteria makes it inaccessible to the vast majority of applicants. Although apparently USyd doesn't even participate in UAC offer rounds and calls up applicants to make an offer - my friends who participated in the interstate/IB USyd interview got a phone call later in the evening.Isn't USYD coming out first so wouldn't you put that above everything else? And thats interesting for WSU because otherwise offers get released early Jan same date as UNSW

Hi guys, just had a quick question about preferencing for December round offers. Since med offers only come out in January (I think), should I be putting all my alternatives and back-ups to medicine first for the December round offers? I assume for UNSW I would still need to put that in my preferences since they give out interview offers based on ATAR and UCAT, but for WSU and UNE do I have to have them in my preferences for that round? Would that impact anything?

A1 what are your thoughts on removing Med preferences altogether for Dec, as the OP is suggesting?
so if u want to put for nsw, 1.unsw med, 2.wsu med, then 3.uon/une med followed by other degrees bcos u want those degrees in that order would it be a problem in recieving lower ranked offers (like wsu/uon etc.) for first round?
Many med schools, including the three NSW ones iirc, require you to have them in the pref list by close of application 30 Sept. If you remove the med prefs for the Dec round you CAN'T put them back, so be extremely careful.
hi everyone i have a question about UAC preferencing, so I'm applying for E12 at USYD which lowers the star requirement to 99.50 which if I sweat out the HSC big time is possible. I was thinking of putting that first, then UNSW, the UoN then WSU (my UCAT was 2830 but my VR was 590 so not great either way). I'm rural (RA3), so we interview earlier (like right after HSC concludes) but saw some posts on here about WSU potentially giving offers out earlier?? in which case how should i order these? THANK YOU
