right. thank you, ive called bond and qtac 7 times now collectively and it finally looks like im getting some help.
 
Hi I wanted to ask what was the cutoff for psychometric test this year?
I have done 1.5 years of uni with selection rank higher than 97 but was not selected for the test. Called qtac and they werent very helpful

same - i have finished an undergrad and started a postgrad witha selection rank around 98 and still not selected?..
 
Does anybody know where to access (deleted) the best/ most relevant psychometric practice resources? (Deleted)

I called bond first and asked them why I didn’t get an invite with 98 and they basically said ask qtac we don’t decide who gets invited. Then I called qtac and asked them why it said I wasn’t selected and if it was because I didn’t need to resit since I have a valid result from last year, to which they said no you just weren’t selected and to call bond since QTAC doesn’t choose who gets selected. All in all, no one had anything helpful to say. I have emailed bond and I’m waiting on a response.

In your situation I’m not sure how starting a post grad affects your gpa calculation but it’s a a lot more competitive. I’ve heard that applicants who have completed a bachelors require gpa above 6.5 or a selection rank 98.5+.

Applicants who have completed a degree apply as a graduate, which is a separate small quota (20% of the places). Bond website says GPA 6+ to be competitive, but if too many graduates apply the cutoff would be raised higher.

Those who have not graduated but have done 1.5 FTE or more, are assessed on GPA only but apply as an undergrad in the larger quota. This cutoff is different to the graduates GPA cutoff.

From 1 to under 1.5 FTE it's 50/50 ATAR+GPA. Under 1 FTE is ATAR only.

I'm fairly sure this Bond person has told you a fib. It's usually the school that makes the selection before passing the selection list to QTAC to manage.

I did 1.5 years FTE at bond. Called Qtac and was told my rank is 97.5 and cutoff for invite was 96 but qtac doesnt decide who gets invites. Spoke to bond and they said they also dont decide who gets invites. Any idea whats happening?

Edit: also spoke to other students at bond who said they didnt get invites with 98+ ranks. Could qtac be lying about the cutoff?

This QTAC person^ was talking just generic terms.
The 96 is kind of minimum to be competitive according to Bond. The test invite cutoff could be higher depending on the applicant pool.

Previous years were around high 96s.

Is it even possible that bond or qtac made a mistake with our applications? Have you seen anyone actually miss out on psychometric offers for no clear reason and then get an offer later on? My selection rank seems safe enough at 98 and it’s the same rank I had last year that got me through to the bond interview.

No, I don’t think I can say we’ve seen that happen here before from Bond. BUT… we’ve definitely seen many and varied unis make mistakes in the past that they’ve then rectified.

Thank you for your response it’s given me a bit of hope that things might turn out okay. I’ll definitely try escalating the matter with qtac and bond tomorrow so that I can figure out what went wrong.
 
Received an invite to complete the psychometric assessments. 6.25 UAC GPA completed bachelor's degree. I was not expecting an online test to be $350, but I guess this is Bond we're talking about.

Hi I am sorry you are in this situation as it must be frustrating. My understanding is that if you have completed an undergraduate degree, you are classified as a post grad. Only 20% of seats go to students who have completed an undergrad. I assumed that they are ranked separately from the school leaver, non standard group. Since only 20% maybe they invite less people?

When I called QTAC a couple weeks ago during the application round for Bond I spoke to a guy there and wanted to make sure they had received all the information they needed. He went through my stuff and told me it looks all ok. I asked how the next step worked and he said Bond has nothing to do with it at this point. QTAC goes through, ranks people and sends the invites out.

@ A1, is there a place where we put in the info of if we got invite for psychmetric test.. I think it would atleast give some info for the future.
