Bond Bond Medicine: General Discussion

What accommodation options do first year med students usually choose when living on campus? I have heard that the South Tower is closed for renovations so that removes alot of the single ensuite options from us? Do people usually go for standard share rooms in the AC? Im just wanting to live close-by to the main cohort living on campus. Thanks heaps!

AC has private rooms, shared rooms, and rooms where 2 people share a bathroom, but you have your own seperate rooms

North tower is where most the medical students live.

Options are pretty limited if south tower is under reno

The halls is probably where you’ll end up. At least it’s close and on campus and will allow you to hopefully move to north/south tower the following sem

Sorry, but are the Towers different from the Varsity Towers or the same?

Yes, north and south tower are 2 blocks of building on campus.

Varsity towers is off campus, but only like 200m from campus. However it’s opposite side of campus from Med building, as is north tower.

On campus locations pros and cons

Halls/blocks is closest to Med building and close to market square, but far from gym/courts

South tower is close to the cafeteria and next closest to Med building, basically in the middle

Accomadation centre/North tower is next to gym but furthest from Med building and market square

Planning ahead to book some flights back to Sydney after Uni starts! Anyone gets access to the time table for the coming semester? I heard that all classes finish by 2pm on Fridays and will not start until 12pm on Mondays. Is this correct at least for the coming semester?

The email they sent with the orientation PDFs contained a proposed timetable that did say that all classes finish by 2pm on Fridays and will not start until 12pm on Mondays. It may be subject to change, but thats all we know so far :)

Thanks a lot for confirming the info.

So for the Go Card travel card, I could buy an adult one at any retailer in GC and then apply online for Uni Students concessions (50% off fare) with the student ID number I got from Bond?

Hey all.

I just emailed Bind about the white coat and they said that they will provided lab coat for free. But if you want emblem of bond and your name on it, you have to buy. Does anyone know how we can pay or purchase the coat?

Apparently the MSSBU will contact us with reference to payment (as I have heard from them), but I don't know when

you wont get the 50% off until you are enrolled (may) so you have to pay full price for now...

hey does anyone else get the error code when trying to complete the Introductory Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Cultural Practice Online Program.

For the compliance forms do we need to finish all 24 items before May 7th, ie things like first aid where we need to get it certified?
