Bond Bond Medicine: Psychometric Test

As mentioned by Crow, it's actually more appropriate (and useful) for people to post their questions here in the forum rather than approach individual users for private replies. If you post your questions here, others can also benefit from the responses provided and it can save doubling up when questions are repeated.

Please post your questions here so that nightwatchman can reply to them in the thread. Thank you everyone.

what kinds of questions are asked in the two tests? Also is there anywhere I can find practice materials or example questions?

I just Googled “practice psychometric tests” and found plenty of them.

Just going to quote this again for visibility.

Hi ucatman, do you happen to have any resources for practicing the MSCEIT test?
Specifically, being able to identify emotions in landscape-type images?

Thanks so much in advance :)

Hi, ucatman I have applied for Bond uni today. Have no idea about psycho test and interview. Can you please provide where I can get the good practice test . If paying money, it is very fine to get Coaching. Would you mind helping me to get your advices for test and interview? Many thanks.

Does 96 guarantee mean that anyone with a 96+ ATAR would be invited to sit the psychometric test?

If it was written down somewhere in an admission guide, I’d say yes. Given it was someone from admissions (notoriously a fairly unreliable source of information, regardless of the University), I still say yes but with a little less confidence!

Hi ,My ATAR is 99.6 ,What are my chances to get medicine admission offer in Bond ? or is it mainly based on performance in interview?

Psychometric determines your eligibility for interview. Then interview determines your admission

Thanks so much for the luck! Just thought I’d jump on & say, I received an email at 4:30 that I have been selected to complete the psychometric testing (yay!) but as I have valid results (last years) then I won’t need to sit it again and last years results will be used to determine if I progress to the next stage. Hope this helps some others!! Thanks everyone for all your help
Congrats!! Since you completed the test last year, do have any tips for students completing it this year? How should we prepare?

I struggled to find advice last year surrounding how to prepare! But I have seen lots of advice (and I agree) with how you answer the questions. Make sure you’re truthful in your answers as it seems there are multiple questions that pop up that ask the same sort of thing but in a different format. So if you answered 1 question where your answer wasn’t true to you but then got faced with another similar questions presented differently, it is hard to maintain the “false” sense of who you are all the way through. That probably sounds a lot more deep than it’s supposed to 😆 but just make sure you’re honest in your answers (you will probably get a gut feeling for which option suits you best). This is a combo of advice I have read & how I felt taking the test! It is not a hard exam content wise (like the gamsat or UCAT), so please try not to get too nervous for it. Read the questions & take your time (providing they haven’t got a time limit this year). All the best 💛

Thank you so much :)) ! Wishing you all the best for the future <3

I agree LMG. There is no way they can hold the psychometric test at bond for 2021 entry.

Btw guys I am currently a 2nd year in Bond med. If anyone wants any tips or advice for the psychometric test or anything to do with the bond med process then feel free to reply to this message in the thread and I'll get back to you* :)

I had some aweosome people who helped me out when I was applying so now I wanna pass the baton as so to speak.

Hey Mr nightwatchman, I get a little confused answering related to emotions conveyed by pictures, object and colours. Do you have any tips? Thnx

Would it be ok to use a touchscreen device with a mouse attached (using the mouse and keyboard but not the touchscreen) ?
I know the email says no touchscreen device but I'm not sure if a non-touchscreen laptop is compulsory

If you have an iPad/iPad Pro with keyboard and mouse or something similar you should be fine.

i guess they mean don’t like use the touchscreen to do the exam, could screw it up. But yea just use the mouse and keyboard on the laptop and it should be fine

As per repeated requests to this page, general advice like this shouldn't be requested via private message, but rather asked here and then shared to the page so everyone can access the information and the author only has to post once.

nightwatchman (or anyone else!) if you have any additional tips you'd like to share, please do so here. That would be much appreciated!!
