Despite all the crying about med students tsunami fact is the unis are NOT producing enough CSP graduates to fill all the intern/RMO spots the State govs want. They need to top up with non-CSPs or even imports.
That means it's very possible for med graduates/RMOs to quit their study state to return to home state. I've seen reports 2-3 years in a row ~15% of WA internships are not taken up by WA graduates. They prefer to leave than stay in WA (despite WA's highest pay haha). I think Tas has a similar problem. The State gov has legit reasons to prefer state-grown students to interstate "visiting students"
