JMP JMP: General Entry Discussion

Does everyone feel like they stuffed up answers or couldn't answer questions? Wondering if it's just me who couldn't answer multiple of the multipart questions without stammering or feeling like i rambled to a point.
Dw, don't mull over the interview anymore. You can't change the outcome/results of the interview anymore - it's a waiting game now. You might've done better than you think you had. :)

I definitely had stations where it didn't go as well as I hoped. Just let it go and enjoy the break (or prepare for more interviews)!

As someone who analyses everything, I can sympathise with you MacDaddy ... I’m stressing over it despite thinking I did extremely well for 6/8 stations. It’s just part of my nature, something which will help me if I get in because I like to always reflect on stuff and see how I could improve or see why things work the way they do.
On the downside, it makes situations like this hard to just sit and wait when it’s out of your control.

The challenging part is securing accommodation and subsequently paying a non-refundable deposit. Waiting is just one part of the saga.
Hmm, gotta disagree there - accomodation is very easy to get in Newcastle - I have lived here for 10 years and have never struggled with rentals - if I get in I’m happy to help people with where to rent and what to pay.

Tbh, I overanalysed it for ages too (I'm the type that hangs out on post-exam thoughts threads for hours haha). I was actually going to message you a few weeks back about a station because I thought I messed it up and wanted additional insight. However, upon additional reflection, I realised it'd only cause me additional stress with no due benefit, especially since I can't exactly pinpoint what went wrong.
I just had/have other interviews to focus on, so worrying about something that has already happened can't improve the situation.

Sounds like you smashed the interview though. :) Good news are sure to come for you!

Wish I felt as confident as you guys - Even if I felt like I killed it, I'd always be assuming that everyone at the interviews is amazing as... well they are smart enough to be in the cutoff for interviews.

I'm not that confident. I'm just choosing not to think about it as it won't affect the final outcome.

Don't worry about all the 'what if's, focus on what you can change (e.g. your future interview performance if you have more).

Apologies, I wasn't making myself clear here. I had to secure on-campus accommodation with UNSW by paying them a deposit which is non-refundable. I had to preference one of their courses which might be offered to me on the first round. As I have learned on this forum, JMP releases results on the second round so if I don't get accepted I get to use the deposit towards rental fees at UNSW, if I do get accepted, the deposit is non-refundable. Long story...sorry. By the way, thank you for your offer of assistance in reference to accommodation at Newcastle. :)

Did anyone else get an email from UAC today about their EAS eligibility? I didn't even apply for EAS and im pretty sure JMP doesn't consider it?

We have assessed your Educational Access Schemes (EAS) application and you are eligible for EAS consideration at the institutions listed below.

We assess your eligibility at every institution, whether or not it is currently included in your course preferences. You may find you are eligible for EAS consideration at some institutions and not others. This is because each institution has its own EAS policy. Our EAS eligibility letter fact sheet has more details on these policies.

Contact institutions for information about their specific schemes.

Hmm, UAC said that EAS eligibility letters come out on the 18th and onwards. Key Date Listing Home

Has anyone who applied for the JMP program received an email message to complete a survey on the selection of medical students ? This could be completely random and don't mean much.

I’d be very surprised if they hadn’t sent it to all JMP interviewees, to be honest!

Yep also received this - Did you sign that form on the day saying you would be willing to participate? That would explain your email

Only if you consented to receiving it on the day or in the mass email they sent out asking if you would be interested.
