Hope everyone's content with their marks. Shouldn't be a long wait now for HUBS and BIOC.

If epi has been scaled, the scaled mark is what you see on PIMS. The only way to know if it has been scaled is to go to the epi department to view your exam script and use that to calculate your raw mark.

Epi was definitely scaled last year (for the first time!), so it's plausible.

It has definitely been scaled judging from my grade and how much I left blank and potentially got wrong.
That's what I thought about my mark too... Although that nasty 'unconfirmed' sitting there is unsettling, especially after the epi debacle in the past :S
ETA: Although, if it was scaled (with the other papers, isn't that how scaling's done in HSFY?), wouldn't it have come out on the same day as the others?
ETA2: If anyone is disappointed with their HEAL marks, from what I can make out, the marks distribution in HEAL was pretty damn low, so your marks are probably better compared to everyone else than you think :)

What kind of marks were there for epi? (if that's not taboo)

Also, do they scale if too many people do well? (not just if everyone sucks like an electrolux)

AND also, would there be anyone keen to be a private tutor next year? pm me if so.

Well I got 87%, which isn't too bad, considering the exam was so long that I missed 5% of the marks due to not finishing. But yeah, HEAL seems to be really rather good at average-lowering.
And yes, they do sometimes scale, although unless you go and check your exam script you'll never know (they don't actually tell you, I only know scaling exists thanks to MSO). But from the marks I've heard so far, perhaps epi wasn't scaled... (It's unusual that the highest mark I've heard is 92%, lol).

Well I got 99%.. Which made me slightly suspicious..
o.O Well done! (Is that even possible? Haha. So either you lost <1% internally (then got 100%-ish in the final), or they scaled)
ETA: I don't mean to sound like a douche, but this *is* an unconfirmed result :S

Thanks guys. I was rather surprised. I did only lose 0.75% internally so theoretically they may not have scaled but I doubt I would have got 100% on that huge exam!
I suppose it doesn't really matter, hopefully they are confirmed soon.
The wait for Bioc and Hubs begins!

I'm shitting my pants waiting for my results to load... epi and eco were definitely my worst exams

EDIT: A+ for eco and A for epi. Kinda pleased with eco but disappointed with epi...

<- is refreshing pims every 5 minutes because she wants to be the first to announce that "[bioc/hubs] results are out!!!".

The above is a testimate to how much I miss studying, like actually.

Not quite sure what you're asking. If you fail NCEA L3 chemistry it'll be advised that you do the chemistry bridging course, but I don't think anyone will stop you from enrolling in CHEM191. You would find CHEM191 very hard though.

If you fail CHEM191 you can't do BIOC192 and have to pull out of HSFY. Failing any HSFY paper essentially means you have to pull out of HSFY though, because no professional course will take you.

Now we wait... for BIOC. *doomsday music*
