Sure is, I've already got a hepatologist booked for saturday morning.
If you can get some sort of group-discount at this clinic, I'll be more than keen. We'll presumably have the exact same presenting complaint, anyway :p.[/offtopic]

my motivation to study is at an all time

[OFFTOPIC]low, i hate you HEAL192..[/OFFTOPIC]

Just learned about cumulative ratios and risk rates.. reckon we need to know anything else for it?
Staying up late and studying HEAL, I see...

Well that was unpleasant. Luckily it only lasted... one whole f**king year.

As a wanna-be HSFY, I was just wondering when everyone gives up there textbooks for the lowest possible price? I'm curious to know when the best time to find a bargain will be. :L

Check trademe in a few weeks? There textbooks up there well into the first sem, alternatively people put up notices around once the semester starts

Do you know how much would the cheapest price normally be though? How much is reasonable?

How cheap a textbook is pretty much depends on the condition of the books, so if you're willing to deal with textbooks in a shabby condition, it will be cheaper. (But potentially harder to sell off in the following year)

A textbook price being 'reasonable' is so subjective, you should probably just have a look at the textbook list and see what the RRP is for all the textbooks. From there you can determine what you think is reasonable. Another thing you could do is wait for books to be listed on like auction websites and see which is the cheapest out of all of em.

Also, if you're looking to save money by spending less money on textbooks, try and be selective about the textbooks you purchase - you don't need to buy every single textbook immediately, half of them aren't that helpful anyways.

This is probably the most important thing. You could actually get by without any of the textbooks if you're that concerned about the price. Don't buy any textbooks until you get to Dunedin, and preferably not until class has started - otherwise you may end up paying for a book you never use.

Yep, and the library has all the textbooks so you can get a feel of whether you need the textbooks or not.

And if you're at a hall there will be so many copies of textbooks lying around that belong to people on your floor that they won't be using. Please don't feel like you will be disadvantaged if you don't have all the textbooks before the course starts, because you really won't be.

1000th post yay! :P

Amen to this, I didn't use a single textbook - preferred to just google the rare thing that the slide/my own notes wasn't clear on, or just ask a classmate. You really can get by with using literally no textbook and not be at a disadvantage (despite what the lecturers will try to impress on you!).
