I stayed at Selwyn, but I've got mates who stayed at Carrington and they said it's pretty awesome for getting people into med. Apparently about 40 or so people from there got into med this year.

Went up there for tea/lunch a few times, way better food than at Selwyn lol. The hill sucks though, glad I had a flat walk to uni haha

What walk? You can practically wake up 2 mins before the lecture and still make it in time from Selwyn -_-

Hey iceman, I got the letter in the mail today but I'm going off to Auckland . You'll get it in the mail I'm guessing very soon so don't worry:lol:

OMG i just registered online for next year. I thought that all i had to do after getting my offer was to accept and send those OUMSA, orientation, and that 'i agree to these terms' form. it said that online application dealine was the 15th of jan but still let me register..my application is awaitng confirmation..im hoping theyre just gonna charge late fees and that they arent a ridiculous amount. i think i dodged a bullet

Last year, in one of those documents you download when you get your offer via email, it clearly said that registering for the course is your responsibility, so make sure you get it done! :D

Yeah neither have I. I also know of two other people on waitlist 4 med and they havnt recieved anything also. It seems very unlikely that we are all at the bottom of wait list the more probable senerio is that they have yet to make offers. Also when i rang the admissions last week they told me that grad and ugrads are on the same wait list, do you have any idea how this might work?

I think perhaps the wait list consist of students (be it ugrad and grad) that attain certain threshold (lets say above 7.3 gpa). If a student from the ugrad category decline his med offer, that offer will be offered to the ugrad student with the highest gpa in wait list and the same is true if a student from grad category decline his offer for med.

yeah i think you are probaly right as they would probaly want a good ratio of ugrads and grads. Plus there wouldnt be a fair way to rank them. Another thing I forgot to mention someone in my hall last year got in via wait list he said he recieved his offer on the 21st of Jan.

By the way do you know how many people are on the waitlist? Just curious about that. I heard someone got in on the 3rd of march last year lol.

Im not sure to the exact number but from talking to previous students about 20-30 would be a good estimate. When i was talking to melanie last year i remember she let it slip that 15 people declined med for dent. And I know for a fact that in my hall 1 person declined med for BPharm and another for Bsc.

I have been told by admissions that ''offers from wait list are not likely to come out till 21st or 22nd of Jan'' Goodluck to everyone!

Best of luck guys n gals. It's been a long and painful wait for you all I could imagine. I hope you all get what you deserve. And for those that miss out, there is always always always another chance. A wise man once said "if there is a will, there is a way." Good luck!
