Repeat applicant here. 2nd time UCAT, 4th attempt at med school. I feel like an absolute idiot doing worse on my second attempt , super disappointed in myself. Did more preparation this year and did worse -.- I've been feeling super depressed and anxious. I was a million times more nervous and sleep deprived before my test this year than last year. I'm absolutely scared shitless that SJT may now count because of this virus. Fingers crossed being GWS resident helps

DUDE thats an incredible mark! Keep in mind that even if you went down you don't know whether the percentiles could change, it might be that 3010 is the same or similar to the percentile of 3120 last year. I know this is a weak response but since its over now theres nothing you can do to change it. The best thing to do would be to take some time off and then start focusing on how you can maximise your chances through interviews.

You still have an amazing score! Also just to give you some relief it says on the UNSW website that SJT will not be considered this year, and unless they last minute change this (which I think they can't) you should be fine in regards to SJT.

Aye same score! I also felt the exact same way after my test (about AR and wanting 3000+ score). But look on the positive side, 2940 is not the WORST score, fairly decent if you ask me.
Yeah, 2940 doesn't feel too bad. But need to wait for the official stats to be out.
Ps. Are you my twin?

Probably :D

QR is off the charts! And your AR isn't bad at all! Congrats on the score :)
Tnx. I felt AR was really easy during the exam, hence was expecting above 850.

Hi all. I’m a current grade 12 student in Queensland and scored 2820 in the UCAT this year. I don’t think this will be enough to get in to Monash or UQ (the 2 unis I want to get in to) but some people are talking about redoing the UCAT next year. I thought you could only sit the UCAT in the year of you finishing grade 12? I would love if someone could clarify this for me :) thanks 🙏🏼

Hey you can sit the ucat in year 12 and every year onwards for entry into undergraduate medicine.

the year you finish year 12 is the earliest you are able to sit it, but you can definitely sit it however many times you want after that :)

Also, now that UQ is doing interviews; don't be so sure to think you wont get UQ, the BMP cut-off last year was 2800 :)

I heard you have to take a gap year, is that true?
As long as you don't commence tertiary study, you're fine. So that means you can retake some subjects (improving your ATAR) and still be eligible. Not every high school certificate program offers the option for retakes though, and they often have terms and conditions attached (e.g. they keep the second year's score even if it's worse than the first). Best to ask your school to be sure.

Thats definitely correct. I graduated last year and I am retaking one of my IB subjects this November which means that UAC considers me to be a Y12 student.

In many cases the retake is not done through your high school. In NSW you can redo subjects via TAFE Digital online and sit the HSC exams as an independent candidate.

In the case of IB, you can re-take it in any school (anywhere in the world) offering resits. It doesn't have to be in the original school. I know one person who studied IB in Qld but did a resit in New Zealand.
