Hi, I did the ucat recently and I got 2900. I'm pretty disappointed but I was wondering if UNSW would still be possible if I got a 6.8 or 6.9 GPA?

Hi everyone, I recently got 3020 on my UCAT. I'm Vic non-rural, and have a predicted ATAR of about 99.5, would anyone be able to offer some insight into my interview and offer chances at Monash?
99.5/3020 should definitely get Monash interview, with about 50/50 offer chance.

Let's hope 90%ile drops back to 2840 (like 3 years ago so not impossible) to make 2900 ~93%ile then fingers crossed for UNSW.

Hi, I am the parent of a student who took a gap year to concentrate on improving their UCAT score.
Their score last year was 2480 with very minimal study. With time on their side this year to study they have received 3170.
ATAR 99.65 and had an unsuccessful interview with JCU last year. Hoping to receive a few interview offers this year.
Non rural and QLD. Good luck to all

Hi all,
I recently completed the UCAT and these were my results:
VR - 720
DM - 800
QR - 880
AR - 900
Total: 3300
SJ - 687

I just wanted to know my chances for UNSW, WSU and JMP. I am a first year non standard with a gpa of 6.8, and I am GWS non rural.

Congratulations to your son/daughter. They should at least get interviews from UNSW, JMP, Adelaide, UWA, Curtin. WSU depending on VR score.

Definitely all three interviews. Offer chance JMP 25%, WSU 40%, UNSW 50-70% depends what 6.8 converts to ATAR equiv.

Hey I got 2990 for my UCAT. Just wondering what my chances are like for Adelaide University or Flinders for Medicine? I live in SA.

Hiya, if you're an SA local then an Adelaide interview should be pretty likely based off this year's cutoffs. Your UCAT is sufficient for an offer at Flinders provided you don't have a tertiary record and you achieve a 99.95 raw or adjusted with UES.

The predictions for WSU below are based on last year's formula-score cutoffs GWS 721, NSW ~750, non-NSW ~760. This is for fun as we don't know if they will go up or down this year, though I think they should plateau.

Formula= 702.4 not promising for GWS but we can pray it'll drop (was 701 the year before iirc).

With EAS you should get interview from UNSW.
JMP, UQ, UWA, Curtin are possible.
Monash if you're Vic, probably not if non-Vic. WSU can't say without section scores.

Formula= 754.0 likely for WSU. Definitely yes for JMP. Can't predict UNSW without ATAR/GPA.

Formula= 765.4 fingers crossed for WSU.
Being SA you should get Adelaide interview right?
With EAS UNSW is likely. But not sure for Monash UWA Curtin as your 2990 is a little low.

Formula= 736.6 should be good enough for WSU GWS.
Definitely yes for JMP. UNSW too if GPA high 6s to 7.

All the best everyone.

EtA: A comment to cheer up everyone. Last year I noticed multiples 3300-3400 quite early on, this year we haven't seen any yet right? That means the percentile scores/cutoffs are likely to drop lower.
Thanks for the detailed information. Aim for 99.70/99.75, with my 3170 ucat. With 700 VR and 754 only under WSU formula, it seems less chance with WSU?

Any chance to get Monash interview as an interstate school leavers?

Thanks.

Im a non-standard, non-rural applicant interested in JMP, WSU and UNSW. What are my chances of getting an interview offer, given that my GPA is ~6.8.

Hi all, I've recently stumbled across this forum and was wondering whether anyone could give insight or provide advice. It seems that I have neither the grades nor the UCAT score required to have a good chance at interviews anywhere in Australia.

I'm a standard, non-rural applicant with an IB40. For 2023 entry, ~97.50 at most universities and 99.00 at UWA. Thanks

Iirc correctly 754 was enough for WSU(NSW) last year. This year I'm thinking the %ile scores will drop lower as I haven't seen many high scores posted like last year, so 754 should be good.

99.70/3170 will also get UNSW interview with better than 50/50 offer chance.
I think it's a little low for Monash interstate, but who knows ...

You should get JMP and UNSW interviews.
WSU yes if GWS, a little under for NSW and too far under for non-NSW.

You're borderline for last year's JMP cutoff, let's hope it drops or at least stays the same this year.
Too low for UNSW and WSU (unless GWS). UQ possible if 3040 = 93+%ile. I don't remember if UWA possible or not.

Hi, my son's UCAT results:
VR 670
DM 700
QR760
AR 890
total score 3020
SJ 578
We are in Adelaide and his predicted ATAR is 98. Just wondering how likely he could get an offer from Adel Uni or Flinders? Thanks.

Hi our son got 3410 in Ucat score couple of weeks ago.
Vr 790
Dm 870
Qr 890
Ar 870
Sj 679

Expected Atar is 99.60 as per school. Wondering whether unsw and wsu is possible and if Atar goes down a bit how much is safer. We intend to apply unsw, adelaide, wsu, jmp and qld. Many thanks. We are from nsw and non Gws and non rural and no other Eas points.

Assuming your son is a local:

Adelaide interview is likely. His lower ATAR without UES (university equity scheme points) or rural adjustment will mean that he will need a top interview to obtain a place offer.

Flinders place offer is not possible without UES adjusting your son's ATAR. If he has the adjustment, then Flinders is extremely likely.

What type of med/dent interviews can you expect with a 2920 ucat score as a non standard student
not too sure about dent, but i believe 2920 is too low (unless cut-offs are lower this year - fingers crossed!) for med at JMP, WSU or UNSW unless you are rural or have EAS/SCATS

Hi.
My question is what are the chances of being offered a place at UNSW Kensington campus(6yrs) vs applying through their rural pathway as RA2 ( with a possibility of Kensington campus but only for first 2yrs).
Having an ATAR 99.65 and UCAT 3170 interstate. Difficulty deciding how to apply considering you can only apply one way or the other and preferring to complete the degree in Sydney for a number of personal reasons.
Many thanks for your very knowledgeable advice and informative site.
