Hi, I'm a non-rural applicant from Queensland; sat my UCAT a few days ago and got 3230. Assuming I get a 99.5+ ATAR, how likely am I to get interviews at UQ, UNSW and Monash? How well would I need to do in the interview to get an offer?

How did you find the VR section compared to the offical resources and mocks?
Hi, in terms of the offical mocks I would say that they are commensurable. However, unfortunately I did not do the VR offical resources questions so I can't comment on how they compare sorry!

Hey everyone, did my UCAT recently and got the following. I graduated last year with a 99.85 and am on a gap year. What are my chances for UNSW med, or any other unis. Im looking to apply for both med and dentistry interstate as well. Underperformed with VR and DM on the day but still happy with getting 3000+ on my first attempt. I live in the GWS region but I know I wont be able to get into WSU this year, I also have EAS from UAC but I dont know about other states yet. Appreciate any input :)
VR: 610
DM: 730
QR: 810
AR: 860

SJT: 676

Total: 3010
Since you asked "any other unis" 99.85 should get a med place offer from Griffith or USC without UCAT. Didn't you apply last year?

99.85+SEAS and 3010 (~93 %ile?) will definitely get UNSW interview, very likely UWA/Curtin interviews. JMP is possible if their 3040 cutoff drops a little this year. Adelaide Monash are unlikely due to the 3010.

what universities do not use SJT whatsoever?
UQ Dent adds SJT to the total, WSU has hinted very poor SJT (like Band 4 = bottom 10-15%) could be rejected.

Other than these two I don't recall SJT being used elsewhere.

hi guys, just sat the UCAT today in NZ (looking to enter med or dent in australia next year)

My scores were:

VR 700
DM 720
QR 880
AR 870

Total: 3170
You should get interviews from JMP and Adelaide. Due to VR700 not quite enough for WSU unless the cutoff drops this year.
Depends on your ATAR equivalent for the other schools.

3230 would be on or close to 99%ile right?
You will definitely get UQ & UNSW interviews. Monash is hard to say as they seem to invite only interstates with very high ATAR.

My estimate is you have around 50/50 offer chance at each of these schools i.e. median interview or better. If your ATAR is like 99.8 it'd be 75-80% chance.

Hi, sat my ucat today and was wondering what unis I have a chance of getting an interview at for both med and dent.
VR-640
DM-690
QR-810
AR-830
Total-2970

Other info:
Gpa 7 for first semester uni(hoping to keep it that way)
GWS applicant

Thanks heaps

What is required for Adelaide med interview (inter-state)? Thanks

How much does Situational judgement affect interview options for WSU? I got 511 rip
Note the below is pure guesswork.

According to a SJT table for 2021 I found, 511 is around 17-18%ile

I checked the UKCAT website, Band 4 (which several UK unis use for rejection, maybe WSU does the same) is typically bottom 10-15%. So hopefully you will escape Band 4.

Hey guys - I have my UCAT exam on the 9th of August and feeling really nervous. I've been doing a bunch of mocks this week for practice and have been getting averages of around 2800-3000. What sort of scores were you getting in your mocks 1-2 weeks before the test and was the mark similar to what you got on the day?
i was getting around that score area for my mocks as well - my average was around 2930 - and i ended up getting 3170 so I did end up getting a higher score. I’d say be confident in your current ability and try to work on the sections you are weaker at and don’t feel pressured by current lower mock marks.

Hi MSO I just sat Ucat

With these scores you should get interviews everywhere.

Being from Vic your Monash offer chance is 80+% (explanation below if interested).
JMP is standard 25% one place per 4 interviewees, WSU 33% plus a little extra for the high UCAT, Adelaide only 20-30% due to 1-per-5 ratio. About 50/50 for the other schools.

For place-offer ranking Monash uses 1/3 1/3 1/3 of ATAR UCAT Interview. Vic locals enjoy 1-per-2.5 place ratio = top 40% final ranking.
The ATAR is likely top 20% of interviewees, UCAT top 5%, assumed interview top 80% (that's bottom 20% okay ;) )
Equal weights (20+5+80) / 3 = top 35% - Not strictly mathematically valid but good enough for approximation.

(But still need to take your Monash interview seriously to be safe).

Would your answer be much different if UCAT is 3100?

A1 replies: As a rough guide 3100 takes 10-15% off these offer chances where the final ranking has UCAT weighted in.

Hi everyone, I sat my UCAT recently and was just wondering if anybody could give me some insight into my chances at interviews? For context I'm going for non standard entry, and I'm in my first year of UNI with a 6.0 GPA currently. I graduated high school last year with an IB 38 ~ ATAR 96.25. I'm applying to JMP and WSU. My UCAT scores are below- thanks in advance!
VR= 820
DM= 840
QR= 810
AR=690
Total= 3160
SJT= 585

(I'm an interstate applicant btw)

VR820/3160 will definitely get you WSU & JMP interviews.
You might want to try UNSW too, borderline but worth a free try.

Hi everyone, I recently got 3020 on my UCAT. I'm Vic non-rural, and have a predicted ATAR of about 99.5, would anyone be able to offer some insight into my interview and offer chances at Monash?
