Hi everyone
The interview-chance estimates I have given so far are based on last year as shown below (obviously subject to variations with how %ile scores come out this year). Please do your own estimates first then ask if anything is unclear.

- No-UCAT no-interview direct place offer : Griffith 99.85, USC 99.80 (but I predict will be -0.05 lower this year)
- Flinders 99.95 bonus-added or raw & 90+%ile

- JMP 3040, Adelaide 3120 interstate 79%ile local, UQ 93%ile
- WSU formula score GWS 721, NSW 750, non-NSW 761 subject to 520ish SJT

- UNSW 99.40 + 94%ile mid-point, 0.1 ATAR lower needs 1%ile higher vice versa (but note this is for an interview invite, last two years no ATAR less than 99.50 was offer successful)

- Monash 99.0 + 90%ile mid-point local, 99.8 + 98%ile interstate

- UWA/Curtin : I'm not sure for locals, for interstates I think it's similar to UNSW's 99.40 + 94%ile mid-point.

For rurals I believe ATAR 97+ UCAT 60+%ile should get several interviews. I've seen substantially lower UCAT given interviews but don't know their particular circumstances.

I just saw your post but thought that I'd mention that I didn't receive an interview with WSU last year even though I had a UCAT score of 3090 (95th %ile) and WSU formula score of 761.80 and an 695 SJT . I was a Qld , non-rural student with a GPA of 6.37 (and previous ATAR of 99.3). Maybe the non-NSW formula was 762 last year?

A1 replies: Thanks Lucie for your alert. You're right, I went back to check the 761 cutoff was for NSW. A few non-NSW with 770s didn't get an invite so I'll guess it as 780. Will amend my post.
(Btw I see in your tag JMP UNE 1, congratulations you missed out WSU but JMP is also great).

Thanks A1 - wow 780 was a very high bar so I hope it's a bit lower this year? I was so happy to get that JMP interview though and I absolutely love studying med at UNE!! Good luck to everyone sitting the ucat this year and I really look forward to meeting some of you at UNE next year

Not an admissions wizard like A1, but given those stats, plus your rurality, there is a high chance you'd be offered an interview at UNSW.

(I personally know of two rural students who got into UNSW with ATARS in the low 90's to mid 90's).

96+ ATAR is already really good for Monash for Rural! Just aim for the best that you can!

Hope that the cut-off won't go up. Basically, in the first two years of the university study, there are two opportunities to try applying for the medicine/dent. At the final year, there is an opportunity to apply for Medicine/Dent via the Graduate path, right?

Hello! Having trouble finding any data on applicants like me so I thought I should probably just ask... I'm a HSL NSW non rural non GWS applicant, UCAT score:
VR 890
DM 800
QR 900
AR 750
SJT 650
WSU formula: .58*890+.12*900+.12*800+.18*750=855
However (for health reasons) my predicted ATAR was 98.85 after Term 2, and not really sure how accurate that is. It was 99.65 after Year 11. However I am eligible for two EAS categories. Guarantee of at least 1 EAS point from any university that considers EAS because one category is objective, and would be surprised if the other is rejected but I have no idea how many points I could get - it is the illness/disability one, classified as 'considerable' impact on my studies on my forms. So it is entirely possible that my selection rank will be 99.95 but I do not know which universities consider EAS.

At the moment I have applied to UNSW, JPM, JMP, UWA, Curtin, and plan on applying to more places of course but I am not super sure where. Any advice would be very much appreciated! Good luck all of you!

With such a high VR, I think you'll get an interview at JPM for sure! Your score is very impressive so you'll pretty much get an interview at Newcastle too.

If your final selection rank is above 99.5, you'll get a UNSW interview 100%. As for EAS, UNSW does consider it so I think you'll get the bonus points. Best of luck!!!

Is anyone aware of interview cutoffs for the diff dentistry schools. (Even though my wam is good I'm concerned about my UCAT score preventing me from getting in).

It depends on several unknown factors such as rural area. For non-rural applicants, in accordance with 2021 database, it is unlikely you could have any chance for UQ, CSU, Adelaide Uni. However, you should have some chance for JCU dentistry. You might have some chance for Griffith Uni, please double check the UCAT requirement yourself.

FYI everyone, in most cases it really is impossible to accurately judge chances unless you include more information than just UCAT score. Things like ATAR/GPA (predicted if necessary), rural status, EAS/other special considerations, and the state you're from all impact this. It'd be helpful for those with time to reply to you if you included this information in your initial query.
