Any one can remember what the UCAT cutoff was for UNSW non rural interstate last year?
Since you included the word interstate, there's no difference between NSW & interstate for UNSW.

From data posted last year, I saw several 95-96%ile and one 92%ile, the latter happened to be EAS.
I can't tell whether 92%ile was applicable to all non-rurals or only applicants with EAS.

Hi, I am asking for my son, he is from Queensland:
UCAT: 3170 (94th percentile), 678 SJ with Project. ATAR: 99.80-99.95

Any chance for UQ non-bonded/bonded med (interview chance?) or Melbourne/NSW interstate med?

or should he put UQ or GU dentistry as backup?

Any advice is very much appreciated.

Being from Qld your son's scores will most likely get UQ interview.

For UNSW I saw a few 99.5-99.6 with 95-96th %ile got interviews, so it depends -
- if UNSW treats the 95%ile as a hard cutoff his 94%ile may miss out
- otoh if UNSW allows compensating combo then 99.80+94%ile should be better than 99.60+95%ile to get an interview.

Unlikely enough for WSU or JMP.
For Monash interstate 99.80+94%ile is probably just under the borderline. If he gets 99.90+94%ile it's more assured.

Whether yes or no could you post his invites on MSO please, his scores will help us understand more the methods and the cutoffs.

Hi (Please move if wrong thread) and so sorry if we have talked about this to death, but I am so confused about how this works.

I noticed a 92% + EAS receive an interview offer (not sure whether that was converted) so that would argue that UNSW has a compensating scale? But then they say this on their website?

How did that 92% get an interview offer then?

Not only you but the rest of us are confused too 😂

So we resort to speculating these possibilities
- EAS boosted their ATAR to 99.95 compensating for 92%ile
- EAS may be a sub-stream with its own lower UCAT cutoff
- 92%ile could have been the hard cutoff for non-EAS too, just that no-one with 99.5 92%ile posted their invite on MSO.

I know 2 students last year got UNSW interview, both from NSW.
1, ATAT 99.9, UCAT 92%,had 1st round interview in December but didn’t have final offer.
2, ATAR 99.75, UCAT 94%, only had the 2nd round interview in January, but luckily had a final offer.

Hi, just a quick update (15/10/24) that my son has received interview invites from UQ, USQ and Notre Dame so far. Will share more details at the “2025 Interveiw Data collection forum”.

Thank you all for the advice.

Surely Student one fumbled his interviews...

I saw this as well for offers (int or course im not sure) for 22/23 entry. Definitely abit old but still we use the data we have
3010 (91st%ile), 99.85, EAS
2990 (90th%ile), 99.55/87WAM, SCATS
2980 (90th%ile), 98.40/6.75GPA, SCATS

dotdot ur son should be fine. Hopefully the people 3060 and above and .5 atars will get int offers and course offers

I received an email from VTAC today saying I was considered SEAS Category 1. This was unexpected, as I didn't apply for any SEAS.

Questions:
- Does this mean I'll be automatically considered for SEAS in other states too, ie. UAC, QTAC, SATAC, etc?
- How many extra points will I be awarded as SEAS Category 1? I tried to search in VTAC website, but couldn't find any info on this.

Thanks!

For UAC, QTAC, SATAC, I understand you must apply for it separately. All states have their own different scheme.

Has anyone who applied for other SEAS categories got this email too? Apparently this email has only been sent to those who didn't apply for other SEAS categories and I just wanted to double check whether this is true.

I applied for some of the other categories, but I only received an email a few weeks ago about my supporting documents being reviewed.

Does anyone have an idea on what ATAR should be good for UQ as a rural applicant whose gotten an interview (2940 - RA3/MM4)? I don't know if I'm looking in the right place, but I don't see many rural UQ offers in the collated data.
