Hey, just wondering about my chances for Monash this year.
Applying interstate with a 3300 UCAT (98%)
What are my chances for a Monash offer with a predicted 99.5+ ATAR?
Thank you!
Gap year hasn’t historically been an issue for UTAS. I think it’s okay for Flinders too.My son (Victorian applicant) received a first-round offer in 2022 from Flinders (RA2) with an ATAR of 98.2 and UCAT in the 82 percentile (VIC). No offers from UTAS.
However, I have no idea if applying in a gap year affects applications.

He accepted an offer from Monash. He also had an offer from CQ University. But no offer from UNSW. No offer of interview from WSU.Thanks guys!
Okidoki, did your son get any other offers besides Flinders?
From last year…Wondering what the chances for a UNSW interview are with a 3210 UCAT and a 6.6+ GPA? Not sure about JMP either but will just have to wait and see what the UCAT cutoff is for that. I don’t have any special considerations
I'd say high for UNSW (will need a strong interview for final offer), almost no chance for JMP.Wondering what the chances for a UNSW interview are with a 3210 UCAT and a 6.6+ GPA? Your chances are probably higher than you think. Griffith interviews a lot of students. The data we've got would only be from the students who were willing to share their results. In the background there are another 100+ students who also received interview invites, but weren't willing to share. The chances of every single one of those students have gotten a 90+% is pretty slim. Here is the interview invite data from 2024. Dentistry is slightly less competitive than medicine, so an 89% should be enough. Best of luck!!Hi, I was wondering what my chances are at receiving an interview offer for Griffith Dentistry? I'm in Year 12 with a 3050 + 617 UCAT (89th%, missed out 90th% by 10 points). I put Griffith Dent as my 1st preference and I'm a QLD student if that matters at all - I've looked through the interview invites from last year and all the <90th invites are for rural or uni students (does Griffith prefer older students?). Thank you so much!

JMP invite 700+ people for interviews. So I guess 96% UCAT and above should have a chance. Finger crossed.I'd say high for UNSW (will need a strong interview for final offer), almost no chance for JMP.

A1 adds: I reckon JMP is pretty good chance with 3210. Let's have a bet![]()
They used to, but they cut down on interviews recently and they interviewed 650 people (including rurals) last year, so the cutoff was ~96.8th percentile (3160). If they interview the same amount of people, since more people sat the UCAT this year, then the cutoff should be minimum 97th percentile (3240). That's why I think 3210 is out of reach.JMP invite 700+ people for interviews. So I guess 96% UCAT and above should have a chance. Finger crossed.
Depends, do other applicants (school leavers) get this notation as well?Hello,
Does Having Met The Minimum Requirements For The Courses in UAC, in which my application says "You will be competing with other applicants for an offer." mean that I have met the ATAR Requirements For that course?
Thanks
Yeah, actually I have got my Year 12 results as I finished it outside of Australia, but I am domestic.Depends, do other applicants (school leavers) get this notation as well?
If yes I don't think it relates to ATAR since they haven't got their ATARs yet.

So not really sure what it means.
I'm a gap year applicant with an existing ATAR and my UAC also says "You will be competing with other applicants for an offer." So I think it means ATAR requirements have been met.Depends, do other applicants (school leavers) get this notation as well?

Amusing to see that Monash's high expectations for interstate applicants haven't changedThis post > Monash - Monash Medicine: General Entry Discussion
says 99.65 & 97%ile only got a Monash top-up invite i.e. that was the borderline in that year.
It's possible for you but would be more likely if you can push your ATAR to 99.7.
Oh That Sounds Great,I'm a gap year applicant with an existing ATAR and my UAC also says "You will be competing with other applicants for an offer." So I think it means ATAR requirements have been met.
