It says they are from SA in which case it applying for Adelaide med/dent is the most likeliest option I can see.

Home state is SA. Applied for Adelaide Med and Dent. Hopeful for an interview there as a local. Also Applied for Med Radiation (Imaging) at Uni of SA.

Gap year is a consideration atm.

She said she chose UWA as unlike other medical schools she was offered a scholarship and did not have to do UCAT ? Does this sound right? Do some international students not have to do ANZ UCAT to gain entry to study medicine at the Universities that require UCAT for domestic students?

International offer pathways can definitely be very different to domestic offer pathways. And ‘pre-med’ is likely a loose term to mean she got a provisional offer so will do the same study pathway as a domestic provisional entry student (this also exists at a number of other unis inc UQ, Griffith, etc).

Should I even bother listing UQ as a preference in QTAC - Interstate applicant ? Instead include CQU - bonded and unbonded - 4 preferences? Is it better to include bonded or unbonded ? Called UQ and they said anyone above 3000 UCAT should apply and see what happens however did say that 50% interview spots are kept for Queensland students so locals have lower cut offs.

Interstate UCAT requirement was around 3100 last year from memory. Scores have gone up slightly this year do we can probably expect an increase but it’s also determined by who actually applies.

If you’re keen on UQ, it’s worth an application from a UCAT requirement POV.

How likely is a 99+ ATAR for you? Any bonuses?

Is it possible to get a UQ dent offer with a 98.90 ATAR and a 3090+624 UCAT? I'm on a gap year (ineligible for subject bonuses) and I should get EAS, but I'm not sure if the EAS boosts my ATAR up. Also, how likely am I to get a Griffith dent interview, and a UNSW med interview? Any response is greatly appreciated.

Monash seems to have updated their indicative UCAT scores for first round interviews to 2700 for DRL and 3100 for Vic applicants not on DRL.

UQ adjustments just add directly to your raw ATAR for an adjusted selection rank. So with your LOTE (French) and Specialist you'll get 4 adjustments total, meaning 4 points to your ATAR. So if you got a 95.55 ATAR this would get adjusted to a 99.55 selection rank and anything above a 95.90 would get adjusted to a 99.95 SR.

2024 data for interview invites lists the below - So with my UCAT of 3200 (interstate - VIC) this year - am really not sure whether to apply or not ? No point if I kind of know that I will not get an interview offer - I might as well apply CQU - Bonded and unbonded....Not sure whether to rely on the below or not....totally confused

If it's true the UQ interstate cutoff last year was 98%ile your 3200 95%ile indeed doesn't look promising
(myself I think it's likely to be true based on Adelaide having the same 50% quota for locals and their local cutoff was high 80s %ile while interstate 97%ile).

Might as well apply to CQU. After the undergrad you join the UQ cohort anyway (but maybe different clinical locations though, I'm not sure).

Hello, does preferencing on any of the TACs matter in relation to ranking for an interview offer? E.g. If I put Griffith dentistry at 3rd vs 6th preference. Also, are there any specific cutoff UCAT scores published by CQU or USQ for medicine? Thank you.

Technically TAC preferences are only for the TAC to know which ONE place offer you get in case you qualify for multiple in that state.

It should have no influence on getting interview invites, except for Griffith Dent in one year.

I just got off the phone at QTAC and although my EAS was approved apparently I wasn’t ‘ranked’ high enough to receive those points for UQ dental.

The guy on the phone told me that they rank EAS on a scale of 1-26 based on severity and for certain courses such as UQ dent if your approved EAS doesn’t make their severity cut off, it won’t be considered to improve your selection rank.

Hi. We got email from UQ regarding EAS. UQ said our EAS application has been assessed and approved. So, UQ said my daughter will get 5 points for any undergraduate courses. Does QTAC use different calculation for bonus?

I believe this is for financial?

If so, it should be fine but it may be worth calling QTAC to check. I only checked because another member on MSO said that they called and they had the same problem. I was not applying under the financial scheme.

But yes, the guy on the phone did say to me that they rank approved QTAC EAS.
