Thanks for your reply .
Can I aak if they release , would it be within next few weeks usually ?
When they do it'd be 1-2 days after interview bookings close, so they know how many (if any) vacant slots to top up and to give these applicants time to avail themselves for the interview day.

is interview location for UoN random? i got armidale location even though it was my 2nd preference and i would have rather gotten newcastle location
do they let you change it?

Yes its randomly selected and has no influence in your final offer enrollment location. You could email them to change it buy they would probably only allow so in some extenuating circumstances.

Are you from Qld by any chance?

Historically JMP has allocated UoN interviews to Sydney & surrounding applicants, UNE interviews to Qld and regional NSW applicants.

This year it seems majority of Sydney applicants have been sent to UNE, since new Newcastle local preferencing means most of the UoN interviews are given to locals.

Given interviews are online would you say there's a very low chance of people saying no/top up interviews being given out?

I can't see a reason why many, if any, people would turn down an interview. We've worked too hard to get to the interview stage; we need as many options as possible. I've been lucky enough to get interviews at four programs, and there are only two I want. But I'm not going to give up the chance to get offers from the remaining two, just in case. Unfortunately, all of the offers are released after interviews, so there's no chance for people to give up their lower preference interview spots.

Nah thats completely understandable, if I’d gotten one I wouldn’t decline. Was just curious since it was being spoken about earlier

Haven’t heard anything else yet, in that email they said they’d send the interview portal details closer to the date

JCU interviews have begun to come out. Have heard of both non-rural and rural NSW interview offers being sent at around 1:20PM today.

Hi everyone-I scored around the 50th percentile in the UCAT this year and I’m thinking about re-sitting next year while doing another degree (non-standard entry). I’m trying to decide whether it’s worth continuing to aim for UCAT entry, or if I should focus early on graduate-entry pathways instead. Could anyone please share what minimum ATAR is realistically needed to stay competitive for UCAT-based medicine offers? I just want to know the point at which it’s better to stop chasing UCAT and focus on the grad route.

Thanks in advance for any advice!

I would have thought you need to be in the 99 zone for it to be worth it as a metro. But others might disagree

Once you start undergrad study a lot of unis won’t allow you to apply for undergrad med. For the ones that do, you’ll need a GPA of 6.5+ to be competitive, ideally 7.0. You’ll also have to complete 8 subjects minimum to be competitive. There are only a few exceptions to this, that use GPA as a hurdle, like WSU.

Personally, I think that, assuming you had adequate prep time and put in enough study for the ucat, you probably won’t be able to improve it enough to get an interview invite, unless you’re rural. We’ve seen this year that metro applicants are needing 98%+ to get invites.

That’s not to say you have no hope, but it’s well known that the GAMSAT is the better option in that case. It can be studied for very successfully as, unlike the ucat, it’s not an aptitude test.

Also, some postgrad unis, like UOW, give you bonus application points for having AHPRA registration, which can be achieved, as well as fairly easy good grades, through studying an allied health degree.

You don't need a 98 UCAT for in state - just saying. I went from a 60 percent UCAT to 97% which will be fine
