I don't even know what an X-type question is, but I can confirm that this statement is correct ;)
It was those questions where a certain two colours/shades changed the central image into a transformed image on the outside. We were give 4 and had to fill in missing one

Oh yep I definitely blind guessed all of those

Sup guys, been watching this thread for a while and would like to give my two cents considering I sat the UMAT last year.

S1: Similar to last year, although I felt this year had a few more gimme marks which did not require as much thinking. Definitely less problem solving this year and the statistics seemed slightly easier.
S2: Was I the only person who found this section relatively straightforward (Much easier than last year), the passages were not too bad and majority of questions definitely had 2 options which could be easily ruled out. Maybe I missed something but this is quite unusual considering s2 is my worse section.
S3: Found it harder than last year. Definitely less questions which could be mapped but that being said it was not impossible; kinda bummed I think I didn't do as well as I'd like to in S3.

Overall I felt ACER designed the S3 this year to reduce the advantage one would get through medentry style S3 questions. That being said for those who sat the UMAT without any preparation, I'd find it hard to imagine them having much success with the S3 X-type questions. Also, a passage about the lecturer and his mother was from last year's UMAT :)
Exactly what I felt! S1 & S2 - easy; S3 - whut?

For the ‘believe you me’ question, did anyone put the girl as self-reflective? (cant remember the other options)

What did the teacher feel at the end of the interaction?
Also did the dude calling his ex want approval?

I think I put the silly option because of the boy going HA! which felt like he was showing the teacher how easily she was manipulated

Also put approval for the ex.

So, there’s a post containing the collated questions so far, but no trial questions have been identified. It’s on page 9 of this thread.

If there are any on the list, or that are being discussed, that you definitely don’t remember doing, can you please let me know?

Thank you!

I said he called her wanting approval, what did everyone say for what the ex meant when she said "that's very noble" or something? I think it was the last question from that stem?

This is a work in progress collation of any questions that can be remembered! Mostly this is useful for: a) identifying them in practice material, and b) working out which/how many were trial questions.

I’ll grab what I can from the thread, but feel free to PM me or post here if you remember more later on.

TRIAL

Let me know if you think any are in the wrong spot.
Theorising that the building plot question was a trial, as sounds like there was a split between people who had it and people who didn't.

I put something about her argument being persuasive for this one.
same

“Believe you me” is an idiosyncratic speech pattern. It can be interpreted many ways, but tends to be quite a ‘strong’ or ‘authoritative’ way of saying something. It’s not a typo.

If anyone can remember more of the question, please let me know!

crap. I think that was one of the options

Proud right?

Yup

What was her main concern?
I think I put coworker's assumptions

same also

I said that she felt professionally detached to personally involved (as first she is observing the equipment saying that she recognises the thickness and the uses of the needle based on the packaging and as a doctor, she has used that very same needle on her patients as well. But once the injection happens, she says it felt "much more than the pinch and pressure" and how she basically felt violated by the whole procedure.

same

I didn't go to med school for this

Also what did you guys write for the questions about the lady who was getting an injection and the doctor was late

I said her attitude changes from professional detachment to personal involvement and also that she felt a camaraderie with her doctor but but idk about these lol

The HA!
Seemed more like a sarcastic laugh.

I put approval for the ex question and for the first question of that stem that he was feeling vulnerable and tried to take back control of the situation? It was either that or quietly pleased with his actions...

Did anyone get a missing segment with snake like figures for s3?

Tbh I think for s3 u just had to stare at the question for a good 20 seconds instead of getting ready to map them and u would have found it not too bad. A lot of it was like stuff moving by 1 space each time and for those that “couldn’t be mapped” you just had to find another way to represent the images.

For example, the one with the 2 balls with 8 irregular looking spaces, instead of drawing it I labelled the spaces 1-8 and then ‘mapped’ it by writing a list 1-8 and labelling A, B... for it and finding that it was a straight forward +1 movement pattern

With a circle at the end of a black turning line in a 3x3 matrix?

I think I put reinforce distance? Because her reply seemed very forced and fake, which was supported by the man going "I wanted to hang up but I knew that wouldn't do any good" or something.
