Hey guys,
In preparing for Section 2 I was wondering how much emphasis you should focus on learning new/more complex vocabulary (and whether you're going too far)?
And does reading loads of novels really help for this?
Heyo, just my two cents on this. Based on my experience last year sitting the UMAT, the test itself is moving away from an emphasis on a large vocab bank in order to answer options which have similar meanings to an emphasis on requiring you to have a holistic understanding of the text, its context and the characters' intentions. However, given that, I would say that vocab is something you can do a little every day and I would recommend having a decent word bank - it wouldn't hurt hahah
