WSU
75:25 if i'm not wrong for interview:ucat

Is this mean WSU don't count ATAR for the offer? Also, as a 98th percentile UCAT person from interstate, do I have a fair chance at WSU if I do a good interview?
Do they have a quota for interstate students (like Monash)?

I've read somewhere that Griffith doesn't do interviews for dentistry (non-standard), is that true? I'm currently sitting with all HDs in a 0.75FTE at UNSW (7 GPA) and 97 UCAT, so can I hopeful for a place?
It is true, but without 1FTE you won’t land a place unfortunately - you’ll need at least 1FTE to be competitive (or possibly, you’re ineligible altogether - I’m unaware of Griffith’s official stance). UCAT isn’t part of Griffith dentistry admissions criteria so that won’t have an impact.

I think they may have some form of a quota for GWS students, but nothing that separates a non-GWS student from interstate to someone from NSW.

Sort of, their academic requirements are purely a hurdle. So either you meet the ATAR/GPA threshold or you don't; if you DO then your chance of an offer is based on interview and UCAT alone.

With that UCAT score if you interview well you stand a good chance (in my opinion)
Good luck!

How did you guys get your tisc ids to log in? I just pressed register after filling out the registration form and then it took me back the registration status check page with the 4 y/n questions. Didn't get and email from tisc with the information either

Hi I am from WA. year 12 school leave. I am filling the Qtac preferences. I have added medicine from UQLD and JCU. when I try to add griffith I couldn't figure out the correct course ID for medicine. what is the correct course please ?

In regards to WSU and GPA being a pre-interview hurdle, I started mid year last year and have 1 year FTE of 6.125. I'm taking a few difficult units this semester, but I think interviews are before grade release for semester 2 so does it matter if my GPA dips? UCAT is 98th %ile and I'm mature age+GWS already at WSU...

What's the interview/place offer ratio at Monash for non-rural school leavers?
240 places (145 non-rural) out of ~550 total interviewees. You can assume the ratio is roughly the same for rural and non-rural applicants.

GPA is actually a post-interview hurdle, so you’ll need to keep it above the hurdle for the place offer stage following interviews.

Also check your census date, you might still be able to drop the course/courses if you genuinely think that they are going to be a hindrance to your GPA, and your ultimate goal is Med; I know at my uni that they have a census date before which if you drop you don't have to pay, and then they also have one for before if you drop your course you don't get any academic penalty; Especially with a 98th percentile just make sure you are going to be able to maintain that gpa for a non-standard ( I think the WSU cutoff is 6.1 for non standard gpa non GWS)

Census date is about three-four weeks into each semester so that ship has definitely sailed.

ETA: it was Aug 31st for WSU it would seem.

oh lmao, my uni the date to drop before academic penalty is 30th of september, but you still have to pay

Is the USYD e12 program run on a hurdle basis? Like if you get above 99.5, everybody is on a level playing field in the interview? Or do they order you in terms of atar regardless with somebody scoring say 99.7 having a better chance than somebody who scored on 99.5 exactly?

If you scroll down it mentions up to 5 places are available for e12 applicants, so I assume you would be in a separate pool

woah only 5 places? Do u know how many people apply through e12 for med?
I don’t think there’s too many. Me personally, I could have applied for E12 based on disadvantages last year (don’t know if my application would have been successful) but I did end up getting 99.5+, however I didn’t even know about the program, so I didn’t apply.

Most unis don’t split the payment/results dates, I don’t think, so your uni may be an outlier.

WSU actually does have a grace period/delayed academic penalty after the financial census. I am GWS though so I should be able to stay above the GWS gpa cutoff... Hopefully...
