Hi, is it possible to bring up a 97 kind of predicted ATAR to a 99 or above after HSC? All of my scaled subject marks are a borderline to mid band 6 except for one which is a band 4, bringing my marks down.

Hi, I have looked on the JMP website and it says that offers are released in January before the non-rural interstate interviews. Does anyone have any more information about this?
Thanks

I am going to say probably not. I'm not sure how HSC bands work but for WACE its based on percentages and a 97 atar has a total aggregate percentage over your top 4 + bonuses of 320, while a 99 has an aggregate percentage of 350. If you were in WA, you'd need to get scaled up via WACE for about 7-8 percent for each subject - which is basically unheard of across 4 different subject areas. You said that you were rural and eligible for EAS bonuses - I reckon you should aim to use those to your advantage to apply to med schools. Your 95%ile on the UCAT is more than enough to get into UQ assuming you also have subject specific bonueses from UQ.
This isn't to say you should try for your ATAR - still do of course, but be realistic about your chances to boost a 97 to a 99. Keep in mind that calculations are based on the idea that your predicted is a 97.00 not a 97.95.

Does anyone know previous CSU dentistry UMAT percentile cut offs to get interview invite for non standards?
These scores received interview invites last year:

197 (98th%ile) 67/58/72, 99.70
195 (97th%ile) 69/58/68, unknown ATAR
194 (97th%ile) 71/65/58, 6.20
191 (96th%ile) 67/65/60, 7.00
184 (93rd%ile) 51/70/63, 97.75
181 (91st%ile) 65/58/58, 98.00
181 (91st%ile) 59/65/57, 6.62
179 (89th%ile) 58/65/57, 98.00
178 (88th%ile) 59/56/53, 5.75, top up interview offer
178 (88th%ile) 54/65/60, 7.00, top up interview offer

154 (55th%ile) 50/58/46, 6.40, rural

Hi, I'm applying for Double Degree Med at USyd, and I'm required to decide my undergrad course by Monday. Just wondering if anybody has experiences or knows of anybody with experience transitioning from a BArts as their undergrad degree into Med. If so, how was the transition and was there a massive disadvantage to those that did BScience? I'd love to hear opinions even if it was at a different uni.

Hi, I am currently a Year 12 South Australian student. If I want to apply medicine at Griffith University, do I submit my application under UAC or QTAC or both?
Also there are two locations for medicine at Griffith, one at GC the other at Nathan. Am I allow to apply both campuses, or am I only allow to apply to one only?

I think it's only through QTAC. And you can 100% apply for both campuses.

The GC campus is available on UAC but not the Nathan campus. QTAC has both. An advantage of putting GC on UAC is getting the offer earlier. A disadvantage is that UAC only has 5 slots vs. QTAC's 6 so you do end up limiting your NSW offers.

I’m doing an MBBS (as a non-standard) with an initial BA Hons with double major in Psychology and haven’t found it to be a massive disadvantage at all (it’s actually really helpful in many parts of my MBBS as a Med degree is not all cell bio and human physiology despite what it seems some people think going into it).

You’d probably have an easier time in first year of your MD if you had some of the science under your belt, but it is absolutely doable! I’m doing ‘pretty well’ (better than I expected, tbh!) in all the clinical science stuff, and ‘very well’ in the communication skills, clinical examination skills, ethics, professionalism, public health side of things.

TLDR; it can be (and is regularly) done!

Good luck :)

Oh, and ETA: if you’re heading towards 99.95 then you’re waaay ahead of me academically (in the areas you did for years 11&12) so you’ll probably have even less to worry about (and I already think your worry should be low!).

Thank you so much for your reply- this is really reassuring! :)

You’re allowed to apply at all three campuses. Note that Griffith also offers a provisional entry course at USC, but the undergraduate component is 3 years rather than 2 at Nathan and Gold Coast. It’s worth an application as well if you’re interested (the cutoff will be lower there than at the other two).

I was wondering if having EAS affects my admission to UNSW, JMP, WSU or USYD in any way?
UNSW: you’ll become more competitive, but probably not by too much as your ATAR is already incredibly high as well as your maxed out UCAT score. JMP and WSU: it won’t have an effect as ATAR is a hurdle only. USYD: If you’re eligible for E12 then you’ll get an interview that you otherwise wouldn’t with a 99.85, but E12 and EAS are two different schemes.

Hi. I got an email from UAC saying that I do not meet the English requirements. Does all the English proficiency proof documents need to uploaded before 30th September? I sent an email to UAC and didn't get a reply.
