Adding to that, do you think that the interviewers would know if you selected to be willing for both campuses (I have heard that the application, which obviously isn’t marked, is used in some areas as a guide for the interview, but I don’t know if they’d look at this)How does UNSW allocate places for each of their 2 campuses?
On their websites it says:
"UNSW Medicine will allocate students to campuses as follows:
Does this mean that applicants that have only selected only one campus have priority over applicant who have selected both? What does "proportionally allocated" and "available at that stage" mean? Would it be better to only select one campus rather than two?
- By descending order, applicants who have selected only one campus are allocated until places at this campus are exhausted.
- Applicants who have indicated either campus will be proportionally allocated to the campus available at that stage. Where possible, we will take the campus preference into consideration, but again, we cannot guarantee it."
I will quote myself from another post: "I believe what happens is that that they rank you all based on your ATAR, UMAT and Interview. Once they have your ranks, they basically allocate in a descending order. So the first ranked person would be given their first preference, then the second etc. There is no difference between the people who say they have a preference for Kensington when compared to someone who only wants Kensington. It only matters when there are say, no Kensington positions left for someone who only wants Kensington, they would be skipped and the next person who put "either but prefers Kensington" would be assigned Port Macquarie. I would call up UNSW to confirm this is how it works to be sure however"How does UNSW allocate places for each of their 2 campuses?

I don't think the interviewers know anything about your campus preferences although I'm not 100% sure. If it's not a personal question, could I ask why you wouldn't want a PMQ offer?Adding to that, do you think that the interviewers would know if you selected to be willing for both campuses (I have heard that the application, which obviously isn’t marked, is used in some areas as a guide for the interview, but I don’t know if they’d look at this)
Given that in my case, I wouldn’t accept a port macq offer even if I got one since I would prefer to continue with my current Uni degree, but I’d rather not come off in a negative light to an interviewer.
The 1 selection point boost is basically a 1.00 atar boost to the rest of us that aren't from Queensland. If you take the subjects that fulfil its requirements, you automatically get the boost. Check their website to find other state equivalents to the subjects listed. Can someone please explain exactly how the subject based bonus points work for uq med?

I guess I haven’t really decided yet, and I’d have to weigh up the pros and cons of leaving Sydney for 6 years but being able to study medicine and staying close to family/friends in my current degree, which I also do enjoy.I don't think the interviewers know anything about your campus preferences although I'm not 100% sure. That's fair enough, keep in mind that it might not necessarily be leaving for 6 years. They've changed the clinical allocation guidelines so that its possible for you to come back to Sydney for the later years (i.e. years 3,4,5,6) and I know a few who have done that (although there's no guarantees on returning, and the faculty can change the guidelines at basically any time).I guess I haven’t really decided yet, and I’d have to weigh up the pros and cons of leaving Sydney for 6 years but being able to study medicine and staying close to family/friends in my current degree, which I also do enjoy.
Another uncertainty I had though, was I think I read somewhere that the uni will only give you one offer. So say someone was 3 places of the cutoff at Kensington, but qualified for port macq, wouldn’t they be offered port macq and hence not be eligible for a top up Kensington offer?
Both campuses learn the same content, just the location is different. Both are on the coast, but Kensington is in Sydney, whilst Port Macquarie is a smaller town. Being interstate though, if the cost of living/accomodation is a major factor, I'd imagine Port Macquarie to be far cheaper. As a WA student for me what is the main difference between studying at port macquarie and kensington for UNSW medicine?
I think the applications are still open until midnight on Monday (i.e. 23-24 hrs from now)Hey guys, bit of a weird unique situation here.
So for the UNSW application page, I'd saved my "Life Experiences" page already, before a "Applications Now Closed" messaged appeared. I rushed to submit the application with all things saved, and yet in my submission on the PDF, the answers that are on there are my old answers to the question, which are completely different to the ones I ultimately wrote. But, on the application page, it says that I have filled "50/50 words" on the boxes, which means it saved. I have emailed UNSW Medicine about this matter and will call them in the morning. But does anyone know what the outcome of that may be, or how this will be dealt with? Thanks.
Yes they are, but since I have submitted it, I am unable to alter the details of my application, which is the annoying bit.I think the applications are still open until midnight on Monday (i.e. 23-24 hrs from now)
Do you have to upload all documents for UAC by september 30th? I have paid and submitted the application but havent uploaded documents for my IELTS english test(I need the english test cause I studied overseas)
Just to add to this, Port Macquarie get the same lectures and practicals, they just live stream it. So if we have a lecture, they won't attend but will watch it from Port Macquarie (and the same for practicals like pathology). I can't comment what having a live streamed practical is like since I'm at Kensington but most people in Kensington live stream or watch the recordings of lectures anywayBoth campuses learn the same content, just the location is different. I had the same situation! It was at around 11:58PM - I freaked out and quickly submitted.Hey guys, bit of a weird unique situation here.

Thank you for your reply. I was freaking out!!I know QTAC allowed an applicant to submit his IELTS result in November. It should be the same with UAC.
Hey there, I called UNSW and they unsubmitted my application. There's a phone number on the login page that you can call.Hey guys, bit of a weird unique situation here.
