JMP is your most likely. You should apply to UNSW and JPM, but interviews wouldn’t be a sure thing. And JCU will depend on the strength of your written application.

Specific Question: I’ve applied for mitigating circumstances because I was disturbed constantly for over half the exam, how will this help my chances if/once it’s approved?

You should get a JMP interview regardless. Unfortunately I have no idea how it’ll affect your JPM and UNSW chances but would be very interested in you keeping us in the loop.

Are you applying to JCU? They don’t require UCAT at all and favour rural applicants.

No, it would be unlikely, unfortunately.

Would there be a reason why interviews would be unlikely for those unis? I noticed there were multiple students who posted here last year who got interviews with ~2400 scores and a 579 weighted average.

While your JPM weighted score is (just) above last years’ top up score, there has been an increase in average scores this year and a calculation that an equivalent score this year would be ~10-20 points higher. You should definitely apply, because a) your annotation may be taken into consideration and b) who knows how that movement in scores will play out. But just keep in mind it could be a very close-run thing.

Your UNSW chances depend on your degree of rurality as they weight it. It’s actually hard to say, I guess. The more rural the better though. 2580 was the lowest rural UCAT we saw for an offer but the user didn’t report their degree of rurality. 2500 is likely to be less than the 50th%ile. Last year the lowest we had reported for interview was 56th%ile. Again, though, obviously still apply as who knows what the annotation will mean in the end.

For Flinders you'll need SATAC UES to get to 99.95 even then your UCAT may not be enough.

Realistically try JCU, or push your ATAR to 99.7-99.8 (raw) for Griffith USC/Nathan. Best of luck.

UES is a SATAC scheme equivalent to VTAC's SEAS.
Griffith Med gives provisional offers to students to do a 2-3yr Bachelor (before joining Griffith MD) at three campuses : Gold Coast usually 99.8 cutoff, Nathan 99.75, USC 99.65-99.70, UCAT/interview are not required.

UQ/JMP interviews are likely, but not promising for WSU, Monash, Adelaide.
UNSW much dependent on your ATAR, mid to high 99s should get an invite. Similarly for UWA & Curtin.
JCU is of course dependent on your written application.

Oh my god. It says they include all fails into the GPA calculations. I had it rough over COVID and failed 3 subjects. There goes my chance in getting into medical school.

EDIT: If I include my entire transcript, my GPA is a 4.64... sheesh

You should get some interviews. The think that would impact this the most would be your ATAR. If you can get your ATAR in the 99.65 range you should get a USC Med offer alleviating the worry with interviews.

Both JMP and UQ were 93rd%ile last year. JMP has been 90th in the past.

EAS would help for UNSW if it takes you to a very high 99+ selection rank. There is a gateway path which has a set quota of seats but I'm not really sure how that works.

For most other universities as you have already met the threshold it does not really help in getting an offer or reducing the UCAT requirement. UES which is a bit different can however also help. Just wanted to add though SEAS will help for La Trobe Dent if you want to get a offer especially as even a tiny boost would mean you are very likely to get an offer

You should get interviews at JMP and JPM. UNSW will depend on how much of a boost your rurality gets you and JCU will depend on your written application. Interview is weighted highly at all of the above (especially JMP where it is 100%), so you should prepare well. Good luck.
