haha, it seems ridiculous to start it so early..

But I feel like I should let the thread gain momentum..

Who is trying for UMAT in 2010!?

Possibly. Even if I do get into a course I want I still want to resit the test to see if there is any difference.

I am! And in 2011. I'm going to slay the bastard thing twice and shove it in ACERs face. Good idea to start a thread now, help everyone get over their results from this year. I want to forget 2009 UMAT and pretend it never happened:lol:

+1 ,

I'm sitting it again just cos i can, will still study for it though. I got a good mark this year so it's not a big deal..

Graduate entry medicine is really not as bad as people make it seem, once the hurting of not making undergraduate entry goes away. If medicine is what you really want then what is just two extra years when you're gonna be doing medicine for over a decade anyway.

^Agree but I think almost everyone would want the security of being a undergrad student, as in what if I fail the GAMSAT? Anyway, count me in for UMAT '10!

im gonna sit the umat in 2010 too. but it will be y first and hopefully only time!!

i was wondering though. can anyone recommand any good courses for UMAT **** in melbourne. if so pls pass the details on. (esepcialy if its in the coming summer holidays)

thanx :)

Sorry Pav103, but we aren't allowed to talk about PR3P courses on this forum ^. Google is your friend though :), and good luck for next year!

Count me in, even if i somehow make it to med this year, like others said ill go in to slay UMAT ( that bastard!).

yea, i'll do it again while i do the pre-med course in Auckland or Otago (still haven't decided)

but i'll try study for it this time!
i heard that vast improvement is quite possible for s1 (which i failed really really miserably)

hey i didn't sit the umat this year as a year 13 student and i was wondering if thats going to affect me in doing well in the test next year? anyone have any insight on the matter?

im a second timer in 2010 :D
arghhh just missed out last time :( so sad.....

all i want is monash med =]

**** wise... just do as much as you can!
like i did heaps for s3.. cos i liked it.. and i pulled a raw score in the 70s first time around.. while i was hesitant about s1 and didnt like doing it to much .. and paid the consequences

It wont necessarily affect you in doing well next year, but oobviously if you had done it this year and you were going to do it next year, than you would be in a better position because you would know what to expect, but that isn't to say that you will not do well sitting it your first time...there are many people that do...sadly i wasn't one of them (or the second time) but third time i got it lol :)

ya me as well, I'm lookin for non standered entry(yy) now

i wont be..

im looking into other courses in the health direction. i dont want to waste a year, or two years, or three, and then it could turn into many years, of not know what i will be doing for the rest of my life.

there are so many uncertainties with getting into med (what if i never do well in the umat, what if i never do well in the gamsat?) This is my dream, but i understand that sometimes its not how hard you study or how good your grades are at school.

i'm going to be doing it next year, i'm quite scared as i heard that so many people that are acheiving the top ATAR's are getting low percentiles on the UMAT. argh it's apparently so hard, i'm going to be possibly doing a course for it in january but some have said it's pointless as you can't increase the 'natural ability' of it <_<
